One Crazy Summer VS Better Off Dead....
I think Better Off Dead was the better of the two movies. It had the adorable Diane Franklin in it.It was also the funnier of the two movies.
shareBetter Off Dead gets my vote. But this was still pretty good.

I'm of the mind that How I Got Into College is Holland's funniest work, for the sole reason that nearly everything about that movie and how it handles the college application process is incredibly true. The greedy tutors, the insane college fair, the nepotism aspect etc, etc. It's really something special when all the true things in a movie can overcome the cheesiness of the script.
But, I think I might have to go with Better Of Dead, even though I love OCS.
"That's the karma again, I didn't help Kenny so she beat me up with a telephone"
BOD and OCS are totally equal for me. I think there's kind of a snobbery about BOD, which I really enjoy (the movie, not the snobbery), but the pacing drags at times. OCS has much nicer photography and is probably better, technically, in every way. OCS also has much funnier and more frequent gags, I reckon.
BOD has quite a European vibe, with it's Euro-synth score by Rupert Hine and wintery shots, where as OCS feels very much an American summer movie.
To sum up my feelings for OCS, as Egg Stork says (to a moped), "Thank's for the ride, I enjoyed it very much (raaarrgh)!"
"Not The Gold!!" - Augustus Steranko.
Funny thing is Cusak hated both. He wont sign anything for either movie. He also walked out of One Crazy Summer's premier screening and refused to do any promotion for it either.
shareBetter Off Dead is clearly the better film and a true cult classic, although One Crazy Summer is highly enjoyable in its own right.
shareI think One Crazy Summer has a more entertaining finale.
shareOne Crazy Summer for me. But only by a smidgeon. The Stork Twins and Acky sealed it for me.
