Fright Night is the best vampire movie ever made.
Hands down, Fright Night is the best. I've never liked part 2 or the remake or the sequel to the remake. Just this one.

sharePart 2 really shows Peter Vincent become the master slayer. He takes down pretty much all the vampires! Part 2 was interesting and worth the watch In my opinion.
I also liked some of the changes they did for the remake, and depending on my mood I will watch either or sometimes both
I GLADLY SECOND THIS OPINION.
shareI could confidently say it's my favorite, as well as most seen, and would *not* be able to say your sentiments are incorrect. Other contenders I wouldn't object to:
Let the Right One In (2008)
Nosferatu (1922 & 1979)
Let Me In (I) (2010) - Like it more as a re-adaptation of the book than a remake of LtROI. It focuses more on the Håkan subplot, which I appreciated.
Near Dark (1987)
Bloodsucking Bastards (2015) - 95% comedy, but it's *absolutely hilarious* imo. Have seen this well over five times and it has improved on each viewing.
Salem's Lot (1979) is the daddy of them all for me.
shareIt scared the heck out of me as a kid (thanks for letting me watch it, Dad) and still might have the scariest vampires/vampire scenes, but the rest of it is a little too 70s TV movie to have made my list. I actually enjoy the 2004 TV mini-series more in how much more faithful it was to the book. Not nearly as scary as 1979, of course.
shareGood movie but I prefer The Fearless Vampire Killers (1967), Salem's Lot (1979), The Hunger (1983), Lifeforce (1985), The Lost Boys (1987), Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) & Let the Right One In (2008) over it, maybe even a few others.

I concur. Any vampire fan should check this one out.
As well as watching the old Hammer Horror films. If you want to expert in the genre you have to go in deep with the oldies. There's a lot of good & bad to be mined from new & old.
It's a good one for sure but I'm not sure about the best one ever. Probably in the top 10 though.
Sequel was OK too but nowhere near as good as this one.
Yes, it's a very good vampire movie. Definitely in my Top 5!
'Salem's Lot 1979 will always be my favorite.
