WORST FILM EVER - Anyone agree

This has got to be one of the worst films i have every seen. The acting is terrible.

Although the film is bad it is not the worst ever music biopic (50 Cent get rich or die trying).

The music is great although. Purple Rain is one of my favorite ever songs.

I disagree, considering the only "true" actors were his parents and Appolonia, the rest were all musicians or in that business. I'd say it was pretty good for those reasons & of course the music kicked ass...

Only the scenes of the Kid's home life, the music and Morris Day/Jerome Benton's performance were worthy to note. The majority of acting on display emoted to nothing, Prince's music conveyed more emotion.

No, it's actually a pretty good film.

It was more of a music video than a movie.

If you look at it solely as a movie, it really isn't that great. Besides his father, the acting is terrible. The plot is really disjointed and all over the place. The characters are super thin and there is no chemistry between Prince and Apollonia. Morris Day and assistant guy were the only characters of the film I truly enjoyed. The two of them were fun and had a really cool dynamic. I could see they kept trying to make Morris the bad guy, but nothing they had him do really made it seem that way. After he made the joke about The Kid's father you could tell he felt bad, but instead of a scene where he aplogizes to the Kid, they just show him dancing to the final songs showing somehow he magically had a change of heart towards The Kid. It's also kind of ridiculous that everyone thought that the Apollonia 6 was better than The Revolution, especially since "Sex Shooter" is a god awful song.

The plot just seemed like it thought each of the scenes it showed were enough to keep the story moving and that the characters were developed because of said scenes. The music is fantastic and pretty much is the only part of the movie that is good. Through the whole thing it seemed like it was a music video first and a movie second. It was still entertaining to watch, but that doesn't make it a good movie!

Yeah, the film and the acting were horrible (except for Clarence Williams' brief scenes) but Prince killed it with the music---even though he actually made WAY better records than PURPLE RAIN.

Purple Rain is pretty bad but Graffiti Bridge is WAY worse! What made PR so popular was the music and Prince's popularity. At that point in his career he was selling out arenas. Graffiti Bridge movie was just garbage with only a couple of good songs. That movie destroyed a lot of acting careers and Prince hasn't made a movie since. A former girlfriend of Prince told me he learned a lesson when that movie flopped. He lost control of his ego instead of letting real filmmakers make the movie
