Incredible sexual tension between Russo and Murphy

Fifteen minutes into the movie they're at the bar and Axel asks why he didn't give him up when arrested. "Because I love you, man," he says.

Murphy looks absolutely beautiful here. A young man being loved by another man. Totally sweet.

I had a ( African American gay) friend who has always said that Murphy is gay - like GAY gay. I never saw it and was surprised to hear it but figured maybe he knew something I didn't because he was in a different demography than I.

Lol! I can't say that you're wrong, to be honest. 😁 During that scene I actually said to the person next to me that Murphy's friend seemed to be in love with him!

I just watched this for the first time in years and i have to agree, and it wasn't just that scene, their was gay undertones throughout the entire film.

One of two times maybe you can put it down to ppl reading too much into it but here were a few that i can remember off hand.

Foley gets berated by Boss then makes a strange comment to him 'boss the chief ain't chewed it all you still got a little ass left' Banter/Gay?

Even before the 'i love you man' comment; Murphy is staring into his eyes way too long

Serge takes an immediate shine to him

Camp fruit seller who gives him Banana

On stakeout Billy's concern over Taggarts diet comes across as extremely effeminate

Foley impersonating a Gay guy with STD to get into the Country Club

The strip club scene he's talking about having a hard dick and asking about the situation of Billy's dick

Victor Maitlan is obviously gay

The goodbye scene at the Hotel 'Billy when you get out of the shower and your dripping wet, i want you to think of me'

That's quite a comprehensive list. Sure that's just "a few you can remember off hand"? :)

reply

ALL of those are "put it down to ppl reading too much into it"

reply

Yeah, it's subtle but definitely there.

Very similar to Predator's Blain and Mac...

i saw it last night for the first time in decades. i got queercoding vibes, too. were men that touchy in the 80s? i doubt it.
