Should The Show Suffer Because of What Its Creator did?

Admittedly I think what Bill Cosby has done tests the limits of the old adage "separate the art from the artist", but is it fair to punish all the other people who worked on this show because of the abhorrent behavior of its star?

I jokingly suggested to a friend that the show could be reedited to remove Bill Cosby altogether ala Garfield without Garfield or replaced with another popular black sitcom actor who hasn't been disgraced, say Reginald Veljohnson, and simply retitled "The Show".

Being somewhat more serious would it be beyond reason to start a campaign to retitle the show "the Huxtables" in order to preserve it as a cultural artifact that had a beneficial impact in terms of countering negative racial stereotypes and providing positive family role models?

The show's creator is one of the greatest civil rights leaders, educators and entertainers in American history. That is all he did. That is the reason he has been falsely accused of crimes by racist and sexist Gender Feminist-Terrorists and their lawyers looking to make money by stealing it through the legal system from Dr. Cosby

The creator of the Cosby Show did not do anything. The 60+ women who are falsely accusing him in order to steal his well earned money have done something. They deserve to be in jail for the rest of their lives.

The show was long over before he was exposed. The rest of those involved with the show shouldn't suffer. It is fiction. He and the others aren't believed to be the same in real life. Others have been charged or whatever after they had been in a show or movie or whatever, it happens. They don't then erase the work from history.
It would be worse to honor someone after they've been exposed. Most of Hollywood doesn't seem to have an issue with Roman Polanski eeven now but they should.

I wish people would leave celebrities like Bill Cosby, Woody Allen, Roman Polanski and Bryan Singer alone.

Whatever Cosby did or didn't do, his show was amazing. To watch a very funny and entertaining sitcom that actively promoted education, family, culture, service, and respect...where the parents were smarter than the kids...that showed a very successful and educated African American family...well nothing can take the value of that away. Cosby may or may not be a horrible person, I just don't know. But I wish we had shows like his around today.

Now, that was a very interesting article. Especially that I now found out that Bill Cosby did sleazy roles back in the '70s, which seem to be more like what he was like in real life than what Cliff Huxtable ever was (and even though I didn't care too much for that character either, he still was supposed to be the perfect husband and father). And I'm just glad now that Bill Cosby never was that dear to me personally, even though I used to like this show well enough. So I can just feel proper disgust for him and move on with my life.
