10 Things In Return Of The Jedi That Have Aged Poorly

https://screenrant.com/return-jedi-elements-aged-poorly/

Return of the Jedi is a classic movie and an epic end to the original Star Wars trilogy, but some elements haven't aged well after 40 years.

The Second Death Star and the Special Edition changes have always been a complaint about Return of the Jedi. The rest of the list is retarded.

Don’t ever, ever, EVER *bleeping* bitch about the Slave Leia costume!

EVER!

Yes that would still work today. Jabba was showing her who was in charge by making her wear an embarrassing skimpy costume, just like his other slaves.

That’s what villains do. They wouldn’t serve her milk and cookies.

Villains are bad! Period!

The only ones who’d gripe about it are the delusional dimwits trying to censor anything sexual — because apparently it demeans women — or anything that doesn’t show women as perfect human beings, which is more of fantasy than anything Star Wars ever produced before Disney took over.

That’s how we’ve ended up with boring as hell Mary Sue characters like Rey Palpatine and every other female character Disney has introduced.

Yes, the Slave Leia costume had plot justification, anyone with half a brain can clearly see that. Any whining about it, and trying to compare it to "today's standards" is idiotic.

"Rey Palpatine"

spoiler alert...I guess ;)

I thought Rey was the Love Child of Princess Leia and Jabba the Hut.

Carrie Fisher may have looked beautiful in the Slave Leia costume, but this would never work if a Star Wars director asked an actress to do this today. Audiences have come to expect more with how female characters are treated onscreen, so Star Wars would likely face controversy if a movie or TV show had someone like Rey, Ahsoka Tano, or Hera Syndulla wear such a revealing outfit. This was especially troublesome when Leia, the original trilogy's only prominent female character, was forced to wear a skimpy outfit when none of her male counterparts were. The Slave Leia costume is undoubtedly iconic but has not aged well by modern standards."

oh for fucks sake, go suck a dick........

that BS means the rest of the writers points are also invalid.......

reply

Yeah because it isn't like actresses don't do full on nude scenes now or anything. I also doubt that by the time of Jedi that Carrie Fisher could have been "forced" to do anything.

reply

yes........ also, Emma Stone is in fact right now being praised for going naked in this new strange movie about a woman with a child mind!

reply

would it help if it was Carrie Fisher's idea?

I disagree about the second Death Star. Obviously for the Empire this design means something, it is a hallmark achievement, a symbol of who they are. Just because it looks the same structurally and has a similar main weapon it doesn't mean it is completely the same in other aspects.

Also, it is a metaphor, the Empire are winning again after their defeat in Star Wars. The Death Star is a means of showing their success.

Number 9 the visuals - I would sooner watch the original 3 Star Wars films than any of the CGI laden other films.

7. Special Edition changes - I agree that the CGI additions look silly against the model and stage sets of the original.

6. The slave outfit - It's really just a bikini. Is this guy nuts? It was less sensitive times, get over it. I also doubt by the time of Jedi that Carrie Fisher could have been "forced" to do anything she didn't want to do.

4. The actions scenes on Endor. The Ewoks are violent though, they have spears. That said watching these teddy bears beat up Stormtroopers is no different to watching the female onslaught of the newer films.
