Worst Bond film ever?
Please, don't tell me if there are worse Bond films after this movie. This was terrible movie!

shareI've always rated A View to a Kill as the worst--this one seems to me better than that although it is one of the weaker efforts. Never Say Never Again has the least appealing score and, despite a really serious challenge by Madonna, the worst song ever in a Bond film.
shareActually, I can't waiting to see "A View to a Kill" only because of the actress as Bond girl. I've always found her hilarious in That '70s Show. It is sad that she recently died.
shareas an "unofficial" production I don't even count it as a 007 film.
having said that, as a film, it is one of the shitties Bonds.
Moore's 'Octopussy' was superior in 1983.
Do you have any clue why Connery was cast as Bond instead of Roger Moore, and why Thunderball to remake it?
shareThis is a different company than EON, who make the "main" Bond series. Some other guy had the rights to make Thunderball, so he took it and hired Connery. That's why all the music is different and there's no gunbarrel opener and stuff like that - all that would have opened NSNA up to lawsuits.
Octopussy, with Moore, came out the same year.
Makes a sense. Thank you for your quick reply.
Kevin McClory owned the rights to Thunderball. I guess he had to wait a certain number of years before he could reuse the story. Supposedly they wanted to make a more ambitious movie called Warhead with the story. Since then the rights to the story were purchased and unified with the MGM/Broccoli rights.
shareQuantum of Solace for me. That was barely even a Bond film and I far-and-away prefer Never Say Never Again.
shareIt's an out-of-francise film delayed by years of legal shenanigans and Connery knew he was too old by the time they made it - not sure it's meaningful to rate it with the offical Bond movies.
You could argue it really sits alongside the spoof Casino Royale where David Niven (and possibly several others, been many years since I saw it) played Bond.
Yeah, I was also reading some few threads here that Connery said no at first, but he needed to make a money so he accepted to reprise the role. I thought he sucked in it, but I loved him in his early Bond films.
sharespectre, QOS, skyfall
It's one of my favorites. I saw it at the theater along with Octopussy around the same time. This one aged better.
shareI rather like this one, it's super cheesy and silly, but it's great fun and Connery is at his best.
Personally I think "Moonraker" is the worst, the later Moore films were just unbearable. Moore was pushing sixty and over it all, and the movies were ridiculous, and failed as both comedies and action films. At least "Never" had some laughs.
I enjoyed Moonraker until he was send to space.
shareThere are two worse ones. Diamonds are Forever and Die Another Day.
Then there are ones that are basically just as bad as NSNA (if maybe just fractioanlly better) like Octopussy, Moonraker, TWINE, Spectre, and Skyfall.
I only haven't seen Spectre and Skyfall yet and Never Say Never Again is still my #1 of the worst James Bond films lol.
