Fantastic premise for a Jaws movie
The 3D probably ruined a lot of this, as did their attempt at CGI back then. However, I think the idea of a great white running around a water park was genius. Some of this movie is fantastic.

shareTotally. This is the sort of movie that demands a remake. Don't remake the classic original. Remake the shitty sequel that had great ideas but totally bungled them.
shareGreat thread. If there is a God, I would ask, "What happened with Jaws 3D?"
shareThe basic concept is good (if a little reminiscent of 'Gorgo') and the effects (whilst a little hokey) are fun. The cast and budget are more than adequate....the problem (as with most movies of this period) lies in the script (which stinks) especially the dialogue.
The soundtrack however, is legitimately great.
Blame the eighties...and too many coke-execs that green-lit this hot-mess in the first place.
I think a better, more unique and interesting premise would be to have the shark swimming regularly around the ocean but staying away from people. Make it more like a real life account of an adult shark eating smaller fish and then at the end, a killer whale comes in and swallows the shark. The end
shareVery happy that the visit to the tropical aquarium ended much more peacefully than Jaws 3.
