The Homophobia is shocking
Huge Eddie fan here but Good God, I was shocked by the homophobia at the start of this set. It really was unbelievable but I suppose in 1983 the world was still uneducated and bigoted.

shareOP. It's strange that you mention homophobia in the show, but not racism, sexism or discrimination against blind people, fat people etc etc.
The point is that he tells jokes about everyone. No one is safe. It's a comedy show. People are laughing. If you don't like it, don't watch it.
If you get in bed with the devil, sooner or later you have to fvck.

It was fantastic wasn't it, highlighting home truths & reality - but guess the normaphobes would get upset though
shareThe homophobia did make me very uncomfortable. It seemed very ignorant and I can understand why people would be offended. However I also believe that comedians are literally allowed to whatever they want, no matter how offensive, as long as it is funny. And, credit him, Eddie Murphy was funny as hell in this.
shareFunny thing is, back then we could repeat Eddy Murphy's words to gay people who would laugh about it.
We were laughing at everyone and everything all the time because people weren't butt hurt snowflakes back then.
A few weeks ago I saw a Zoomer throwing a fit on a hobby forum because someone made a Hitler joke, so I reccon we're living in the last days of our civilization.
