Remake with female lead

Would be nice. Charlize Theron, JLaw, Brie?

Barf!! terrible idea but I do think a prequel would be really cool. It could feature Rambo and the entire Baker team, Rambo, Messner, Ortego, Coletta, Jorgensen, Danforth, Barry, Krakauer... and it would take place when they were serving in Vietnam.

Could be a great movie with a good script.

Just hold out and keep hoping for for a Black/Hispanic/Native American/Asian Autistic, Lesbian, Transgender, Quadriplegic Dwarf remake...

The small town cops have her up against the wall, hosing her down. The camera moves in on the rippling muscles of her shoulders... She is a bundle of coiled serpents. She turns her head to glare at her tormenters and the camera pulls back, tilting down a bit. We see a thread of blood flowing down her inner thigh. Then all hell breaks loose!

"Rambina: On the Rag!"

No. The title First Blood still works.

With Or Without Tarantino, Adam Driver Is Perfect For A Rambo Reboot

https://screenrant.com/rambo-reboot-adam-driver-perfect-casting-tarantino/

Quentin Tarantino has spoken about a First Blood remake with Adam Driver, and while it's not likely to be made, Driver would make a great Rambo.

A skinny, big-eared phaggy looking dude would make a great Rambo? How the hell do you figure that?

If Driver had been an adult acting in the 1980s, the only role he could have gotten in a Rambo movie is something like Russian Radio Operator who gets knifed by Rambo before he can send an alarm. They wouldn't even have let him hold a weapon.

Personally, based on his looks, I think Adam Driver would make a great homeless degenerate. If they ever remake the Jack Nicholson movie "The Pledge" he could easily fill the role of the autistic Indian vagrant who is mistaken for the killer early in the film.

https://screenrant.com/recasting-rambo-for-a-movie-reboot-who-should-replace-stallone/

Having never appeared in an action film, with the possible exception of his role as Kylo Ren in the Star Wars franchise, Adam Driver is the most unlikely option to play John Rambo. He also happens to be the top choice of director Quentin Tarantino. While discussing possibilities for his next project, Tarantino suggested a First Blood remake starring Driver would be a great film.

Driver may not have the expected physique for an actor playing a role made popular by Stallone, but he would bring a greater dramatic presence. Morrell's novel was much darker than the 1982 film adaptation, with Rambo portrayed less sympathetically in his violent response to conflict after the war. Driver could bring nuance and depth to the portrayal of a PTSD-stricken veteran, bringing the character of Rambo back to his simple origins rather than continuing the larger-than-life character he has become. This would also be a way to deviate from Sylvester Stallone's Rambo, rather than attempting to recreate the 1982 film.

There is one 1995 film out there called "The Stranger" but that one is more a remake of a Clint Eastwood-esque Western than say "Rambo: First Blood" with a female lead.

Disney will purchase the rights, and then offer the lead to either Bre Larson or Zoe Saldana.

Joking aside, Zoe Saldana or Erica Durance I'd pick as the lead. However, I don't want or ever expect a female Rambo 'reboot'... unless there is skin (joking again), or that the lead is the daughter of John Rambo and has the same determination, ''ethics", or motivations due to a war/battle from the recent past to benefit her current circumstances (of a re-written story of the original "First Blood")...

*sorry for the grammar and clarity.

I see this thread was made 3 years ago when white actors were still ok for remakes ... LOL
