offended by Bishop's comment

I liked the movie, but the Bishop's comment really offended me. He said there was no God. That comment was way out of line and unacceptable. It could have been easily something else.
Do all the versions contain that scene?

I'll be honest. I was extremely uncomfortable with that line. I get the joke, and even thought it was somewhat funny. But it was more awkward than funny. It could have been done better.

I'm an atheist who has no qualms about offending religious people's sensibilities... but the line is awkwardly done. Would have been great if it was executed better.

You are offended that a movie, which is not real, says something that isn't real isn't real. OK

And you have issue with all of the ther sinning in the movie. Please....

Consider that:

1. He had just been struck by lightning.
2. He was drunk when he said it.

and,

3. It's a comedy. In that context, having a "Bishop" say "There is no God" was meant to be funny, not an actual, serious statement.
