offended by Bishop's comment

I liked the movie, but the Bishop's comment really offended me. He said there was no God. That comment was way out of line and unacceptable. It could have been easily something else.
Do all the versions contain that scene?

His was a shocking comeuppance. Don't kick him while he's down!

I suspect some fake outrage here in order to provoke responses.

He's taking the knife out of the Cheese!
Do you think he wants some cheese?

Yes, I think this man is a troll.

One of the best lines in the movie was when the bishop said, "My name's Fred and I'm just a man, same as you are."

I was offended when Judge Smails said: "The world needs ditch diggers too!". Like there is something wrong with diggin' ditches.

reply

I was offended by Kenny Loggins sucky music. The fact that he was once popular proves there is no god.

Jack Lang was a Catholic politician in Australian in the 1920s and 1930s. He once wrote that as a child he knew an old man who owned a dog he called "God". When Lang asked him why he said "That's dog spelled backwards, isn't it?"
