She got it on with Mel Gibson. I was amazed at the directors ability to negate the height differential between the two actors.
Speaking of height difference, it seems like the reason why Veronica Cartwright lost the role of Ripley was because Lambert's death scene wouldn't have been as effective with a taller actress. shareInteresting info. I think they both played their roles perfectly. Cartwright's spontaneous "Oh God!" on the aliens first appearance was just the right natural reaction.
I agree with you. To me she is not an attractive woman. I don't know what it is, but she looks cold and empty headed and emotionless. Maybe it comes from growing up with such a weird name. But, her face is so long, and her eyes just look dead.

I agree, Brux. I never found her atractive either. Now that young woman Jenniffer at the beginning of Ghostbusters, she's pretty. Heck, pretty well every woman in every Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street movie was pretty.
shareI would not say she is exactly ugly, but she was normal looking when she was younger, like in Alien she looked attractive, just not my type. Not that I am her type either. She has plain normal features. I can see why they picked her for Alien, because they don't want a prissy girly girly for a merchant marine space sailor.

A lot of actresses can be made up to look very pretty or even beautiful. But Sigourney's beauty comes through without make-up.
Of course she wouldn't be every man's "type". No single woman is. Sigourney Weaver is tall and angular, an almost boyish figure.
Her body type reminds me of Mary Tyler Moore on her show when she was almost too thin. There was a guy in one episode that Mary thought was interested in her. He told her that she wasn't his "type". He liked a woman with more meat on her bones, a zaftig sort of woman
