Right in the middle of the story? I didn't expect that. Sure wish they had finished it.
I rather enjoyed the condensed version of the story, tho. Pretty entertaining.

Apparently Ralph Bakshi wanted to market it as 'Part One' for a two-part film series. But the studio refused, thinking audiences wouldn't pay to see half a story (never mind that the first two Godfather films came out before this did). And while the '78 movie was a big hit at the box office, plans just fell apart to make the second movie.

It was my understanding is that they simply ran out of cash.

Love this movie almost more than the live action ones TBH

I was so disappointed watching this as a kid back in the 80s. It did lead to me reading the books when I was a little older, though.
