When Did You First See This Movie?
Tell me? When did you first see this movie? How old where you? And what was your reaction to it?

Just now. I'm 31 and I thought it was fine. I liked it, but didn't love it.
I first saw it in about 1991 when I was 11. I instantly loved it, because along with Heathers, it was the first time I saw a film and realized it was 'saying something' about something. I didn't understand what it was saying, but I knew it was in there, so it was almost a subliminal impact.
Almost a quarter of a century on, the love affair continues.
Never defend crap with "It's just a movie"

Early eighties i was about 8-10.
My dad got it from a second hand furniture shop of all places, along with "Superstition aka The Witch, and The Tempter aka The Antichrist,
Watched it about 6pm winter season (Nice and cosy from the cold outside) and by the end of the tenement building scene my Dad had fell asleep, my Mum was busy cooking dinner, so me and my Brother were left to watch it.
And what can i say, it was the start of a long line of viewings which continue regularly to this day, in fact i may well be watching this tonight after the Football (im in Uk)
As for my reaction..I was well and truly hooked to this movie for life.
I first saw this in 1989 when I was 13. It's always been my favorite zombie film, with nothing coming close before or sonce.
shareSaw it when I was 12. Bought it at target for 5 bucks on VHS. I watched it that afternoon and fell in love with it. 18 years later I still watch it almost monthly.
shareI first saw it just today, and I am 41 yrs old. Uh, it was ok. In comparison to the remake, I have to say that I like the remake better for the most part. I did like that in the original they had to deal with many more zombies inside the mall, but for obvious fast zombie reasons, they couldn't really maintain that element in the remake.
I think the film looks pretty good having been made in 1978, though the zombie effects have come quite along way since. I suppose I also have to say that I am not the biggest Romero fan. This was actually the only one of his zombie films I hadn't seen, and aside from Night of the Living Dead, I am not overly impressed with any of them. This DotD, I gave an 8, which is just rounded up from the 7.5 I would have given it.
I first saw this movie in 1985 at a friend's house, it was a VHS rental and my reaction to it was wow what a movie, one thing I do remember is that someone had recorded over the previews but luckily stopped before the film began.
shareI think I was about ten (so around 1995) when I first watched it and my reaction was that it was awesome but disgusting. The scene where those guys got their intestines ripped out and eaten especially grossed me out.
