Wonder what a Season 2 would have looked like?
Obviously, this was cancelled too soon. I wonder what we would have gotten with a second season. This show had so much potential.

shareApparently, the Pegasus was supposed to make another appearance.
I would have liked to have seen a deeper exploration of Baltar's character...his motivations, and history.
I think we definitely would have seen Apollo and Sheba developing into a romance and possibly additional characters being brought on.
shareI was under the impression that the crashed ship that count ibis caused to crash was the Pegasus? Otherwise why was it such a big deal for Sheba to see what/who was inside the ship? I felt like they were implying that her father's dead body was in there.
shareGo to Battlstarwiki.org > Galactica > Overview of the Series > "Year Two" Main Article: Year Two Proposals.
It would have been brutal... I hate very much to say this, but if they truly intended to use the listed proposals (and there's no reason to think they wouldn't have, seeing as they did use some in G80), it was a good thing it ended when it did.
We'll always have Paris...
Thanks for posting the link. But holy frak, what did I just read? Some of those proposals were right out of left field. What is it with Larson and the second season of his shows? He did the same thing with Buck Rogers in the 25th Century when he completely changed the premise of the first season and killed the show.
shareThe only thing that made me smile was the fate of Sheba , but not so happy with the fates of Baltar and Tigh.
The changes for Apollo seem out of character, but I still would have loved it to see Richard play that.
I like the changes for Athena and Cassie. I'd be curious how that would have played out. It wouldn't necessarily have been bad, but I'm surprised of the supposed empowering of the female characters and the lack of romantic connections that were there before. Weird. Hadn't expected that.
Also liked the plan for Boomer, who was underused as a character. Would have liked him to get teamed up with Athena more often.

Yeah, some completely insane concepts there. I don't think any of them would've worked- even as one episode story lines. It would've changed the whole feel of the show. I definitely didn't like the whittling down of characters. Larson was a very successful TV producer, but it's obvious that he didn't know a damn thing about sci-fi...

Agreed. No Baltar would have almost been a deal breaker for me. I feel he was integral to the cast as he was the face of the enemy.

The story about finding immortals on a planet with strong gravity not only didn't sound good, it actually copies the premise of an episode of Space: 1999 four years previous, "Death's Other Dominion."
shareSpace 1999! Thank you! I remember once having seen something like it. Spooked me rather well too. Especially the end. But I had no idea where I had seen it. I thought it was something from Star Trek or something. Glad to see that riddle solved. :)
shareWow! Thanks for the link! This would have sucked royally!
shareYou're welcome! I found the info on the now defunct Sheba's Galacy website about 15 years ago; so it's been around for a while but you had to dig hard to find it. I'm glad the article was incorporated into this Battlestarwiki site. There's a lot of good info in general there, but they rarely ever update it. There are some good links to some other sites that I'd never heard of also. One is GALACTICA.TV. It has a lot of concept art, interviews, ect. regarding TOS.
And yeah, it would've sucked. It would've been just as jarring as the changes between Season One and Season Two of Space: 1999.
It's much better to provide an actual link than force people to seek out and click through a trail of breadcrumbs.

Lol! Woulda, coulda, shoulda... didn't mean to provide you with an extra five seconds of work...
shareSo it was easier for you to type all of those page titles (some of which were wrong) than to cut and paste the link from the address bar. And you made it through all that in five seconds. Sure you did.
shareThanks for the link. Holy crap! If they even made it a second season, just one or two of those changes would have killed the show, let alone all of them. Starbuck giving up women for work? How would that even make sense? That writer is an idiot.
shareIt can no longer be found at the link you provided but can now be found here:

I wanted a 5 season run with them making it to Earth at the end of the 5th season.
shareGlad there wasn't a season two from the looks of that list. Looks like the destruction of masculinity was already prevalent even back then. I find it insulting to women to think that none of us would like something like BG without those horrible proposals.
