David Warner's character's death...

I saw this with some friends in the theaters in 1976 and that scene blew our minds!

I guess time had a way of making us forget things. Here is the spoiler, if you want:

Warner's character is beheaded by an out of control truck backing up at him and when it stops, it releases a big piece if sheet metal it was carrying, taking off his head.

reply

You know a scene is good when they extend it and show it at 6 different angles.

In my memory it was a pane of glass, but the effect was the same either way.

You are right about it being a pane of glass. I watched a snippet on Youtube after I came on here, and it did look like a pane of glass, but it didn't shatter when it hit Warner's character and then through the window behind him.

reply

okay, thanks

reply

It should have been more bloody. If I recall correctly, there was none.

reply

There was some blood. Maybe not enough to satiate gore hounds. But the staging of the "event" was beyond belief. It looked so real!

reply

Ok, it's been years since I saw it...
