Cheryl Ladd contributed a lot to this show, yet she is quite often shunned simply because she was not on the first season. I think that's silly. Back during the show's run, Kris was the most popular Angel and had the most episodes centered around her and she was on for 4 years.

I liked her the best. I thought the first season was a snore fest. Te show got better and the ratings went up when Farrah left and Cheryl replaced her, but revisionist history exists and it sucks!

Unfortunately, Kate Jackson hated Cheryl so much that she (Kate) left the show, and as a result any kind of reunion of the second wave of Angels never happend. All of the reunions that happened thereafter (award shows, interviews, etcetera) for the most part only consisted of Kate, Farrah and Jacklyn. It's amazing considering that the ratings went up when Cheryl came in, and Cheryl also became the main focus of the show. But I guess that when you (Farrah)sue your boss because you want out of your contract because you have a swelled ego, revisionist history is (for some weird reason) on your side.

Shouldn't the team of Sabrina (Kate Jackson), Kelly (Jaclyn Smith), and Kris (Cheryl Ladd) be by sheer default, the "definitive" classic Angels line-up since that's the group that lasted more than a single season? I'm sure that had Kate Jackson stayed on beyond the third year, that would've better solidified that argument.
Somebody on Reddit recently asked a similar question that I asked. Mainly, why is Farrah Fawcett more remembered for her role on Charlie's Angels compared to Cheryl Ladd, even though Cheryl was on the show longer. People have theorized Farrah is so remembered despite only being a cast member for the first season because she was an absolute phenomenon in the '70s. It wasn't just her role as arguably the breakout star on Charlie's Angels, but that poster.

I think of Ladd as the most underrated of all of "Charlie's Angels." She's usually given short shrift because she wasn't part of the original cast, is in the shadow of Farrah for having replaced her, and wasn't considered the "smart" one the way Kate Jackson is regarded. But over the years I've also started to regard her as the best of the Angels because of the way she brought recognizable human traits to the Kris Munroe character that allowed her to rise above the fluffy assumptions and expectations the public has about the series. This is largely due to the fact that Cheryl Ladd was probably the best actress working on that series. I've also found, in talking with people who also grew up watching the series in the 1970s and 1980s, that a surprising number of men and women liked Ladd better than Fawcett on "Charlie's Angels" because she just seemed to blend into the ensemble better, rather than try and take up much of the spotlight the way Fawcett inadvertently did when she was on the series.
