So many pointless scenes.
shareWhile it's not as tight as Spielberg's latter projects it has sometimes an improvisational, Altman-esque feel that I find appealing. It certainly is one of the more idiosyncratic movies to ever become a blockbuster.

I thought the script had a number of highlight, especially the USS Indianapolis speech.
Coen Brothers written their films by putting plot lines out of a hat. Sometimes it works and get the Big Lebowski. Most of the time you get crap like Fargo, No Country For Old Men and Burn After Reading.
I don't remember any speech in Jaws.

Okay by naming James Bond you named you lost all crefibility. And I am not even a huge fan of Jaws but it is definitely a better movie than any James Bond movie. As for Stars Wars and Alien I love them both but neither of them managed to always stay quality stuff (okay i won't start with the Jaws sequel neither though).
