Which version is your Favourite?
Do you prefer this or The Omega Man?
How good do you think I am Legend will compare?

I prefer Omega Man. I just love that movie to death.
What does that mean? Huh? "China is here." I don't even know what the hell that means.
I loved "I am Legend". I have seen all three of them. My favorite movie version was "The Omega Man". Partly because I saw it in a movie theater and I was the only one in the theater. The movie starts out with an over head shot of Charlton Heston watching "Woodstock" in an enormous theater. The camera pans up and back and you can see that he is the only one in the theater. I looked around and I am the only one in this theater.
Mary Shelley (née Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin; 30 August 1797 – 1 February 1851) best known for her Gothic novel "Frankenstein" wrote "The Last Man" an apocalyptic science fiction novel first published in 1826. The book tells of a future world that has been ravaged by a plague. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Shelley
In other words she published the same story 128 years before "I am Legend" by Richard Matheson.
I consider May Shelley as the mother of Science Fiction.
I find last person alive an interesting plot line. Rod Serling's The Twilight Zone TV series had one episode that had a nice twist on this theme. "Time Enough at Last" Season 1:Ep. 008 You can watch if you want. http://www.cbs.com/classics/the_twilight_zone/
Every story or Book is seen differently through the eyes
of different Directors and Screen-Play Writers. That's what
Films are all about(Crap! I have to tell you dummies this!?)
ALL THREE WERE EXCELLENT, TO EACH IT"S OWN!!
I like all 3 Actors!! ALL 3 Movies!!
Vince, Chuck, And now the New Kid on the block!!
How many out here Watch DVD's while Playing on the PC?
Maybe a little more attention to the Flick, and you'll
have it! I really want to know how many "Asses" have
taken "Root" to the Computer Chair....?
Troll! not really, until I see the crap on ALL these Boards!!
Well Last Man on Earth keeps to the story much more, and is a slow progression but does keep your attention, focused on the main character the most
Omega MAn was good, but i didn't particularly like the family, the fact that the monsters produced from the plague were holier-than-thou and wanted to kill Neville because he used technology and whatnot, but Charles Heston did a good job and the film was enjoyable
Will Smith I think is the best actor out of the three, and the first half or so are very entertaining (cgi/vampire design is pretty bad though) but the second half goes down.
I like them all in their own way, but i guess I am legend has it's soft spot despite monster design and the end of it.
Come and get it, bitches.
I am gonna go with the Omega Man.
shareI personally like I Am Legend the most out of all 3.
Next would come TLMOE then the omega man.
I really did not like The Omega Man and thought it was a disgrace to Charlton Heston, even though it stayed more true to the book than I Am Legend did.
The old generation of people like Vincent prices version.
The The almost od generation likes Charlton Heston's.
This generation(me) Likes Will Smith's.
Its kinda like a Star Wars thing....
Flocke: Come with me, and I promise, I'll tell you everything.

All three have their points, but I think the zombies/vampires are hands-down scariest in the Last Man on Earth, which does a lot for the overall feel of the movie. I don't really think either the Omega Man or I Am Legend improved much on the Vincent Price version.
shareI've seen all three and the Last Man on Earth is my favorite version. Even with a low budget, it's a very good movie. Price was a great actor. The black and white of the film adds to the dread and hopelessness of the film. The isolation. The Will Smith version is the one I like the least. Just typical current Hollywood junk. Omega Man was good, but felt campy at times.
shareI'd say all three pretty much dropped the ball, but "I am Legend" was the most suspenseful and entertaining. "Omega Man" would've been better if the "cult" was menacing. "Last Man" was just an Italian train wreck...
shareLast Man on Earth
I wouldn't call Omega Man a remake since they're based on a book. Just like The Thing From Another World and The Thing.
