Was Marry Poppins asexual?
shareI have no idea. The problem is, the 60s film indicates that she might have had an attraction to Bert, maybe even a past romance with him, which she never had in the book. In fact, P.L. Travers wrote her as only having one job, and that was to take care of the children. The concept of her getting romantically involved with anyone never even entered the conversation. However, considering how messed up Travers was, and the kind of women who were nannies (usually former mothers, grandmothers, or old maids), I wouldn't be surprised if some of them lived a life of celibacy while raising someone else's kids.
shareCould be. Or gay. Or she just didn’t fancy Bert or any if his grimy friends.
