The Dark Knight is a higher rating?

You rated The Godfather lower than TDK and gave The Godfather part 2 a 3, your opinion is invalid.

The Dark Knight fans had a campaign of creating a sock puppet accoutns to downvote every movie except The Dark knight, thus it has managed to get at a high position though vote tampering.

That's simply not true.

The history of the voting on every movie is readily available.

When 'The Dark Knight' was released 'The Godfather' was the number rated movie on the IMDb list with a rating of 9.1.

Upon the release of 'The Dark Knight' that movie achieved a rating of 9.5 while 'The Godfather' maintained it's rating of 9.1.

There was no need for any fans of 'The Dark Knight' to down vote 'every movie except the Dark Knight' because 'The Dark Knight' achieved a rating that was higher than any movie on the list.

'The Dark Knight' went to the number one spot without any votes being cast against another movie.

Again; 'The Godfather' had a rating of 9.1. 'The Godfather' maintained a rating of 9.1 after the release of 'The Dark Knight'.

Until...

It was actually 'Godfather' fans who started the down voting. This was talked about on 'The Godfather' board at the time. There was a concentrated effort by 'Godfather' fanboys to down vote 'The Dark Knight'.

Again, the voting histories are easily found. Look it up.

This wasn't the first time this had happeneed. Fans of 'The Godfather' had orchestrated other similar campaigns when other movies had threatened the number one ranking of their movie.

But something different happened this time. Whereas in the past fans of the other movies that had threatened the ranking of 'The Godfather' ignored the down voting by fans of 'The Godfather' this time fans of 'The Dark Knight' responded in kind and started to downvote 'The Godfather'.

It wasn't votes agains 'every other movie'. 'The Shawshank Redemption' had a rating of 9.1 when 'The Dark Knight' was released. That rating never dropped. In fact it eventually went up to a rating of 9.2.

Again, 'The Dark Knight' achieved a rating of 9.5 upon release. No movie had to be voted down to get that rating because, again, it was a higher rating than any other movie on the list.

'Pulp Fiction' had a rating of 8.9 when 'The Dark Knight' was released and that rating has stayed the same.

'Godfather Part II' had a rating of 9.0 when 'The Dark Knight' was released. That rating has never dropped and has in fact risen to 9.1.

The only two movies affected by the idiotic voting war between fans of 'The Godfather' and fans of 'The Dark Knight' were 'The Godfather' and 'The Dark Knight'.

And, again, it was fans of 'The Godfather' who started the down voting. 'The Dark Knight', which would have in all likelihood dropped naturally as most movies do dropped from it's peak of 9.5 down to an 8.8 before eventually inching it's way back up to a 9.0 rating.

'The Godfather' had a rating of 9.1 and that rating never dropped. What did happen is that it lost it's number one spot on the list because the slight change in percentage gave that number one spot to 'The Shawshank Redemption'.

The idea that fans of 'The Dark Knight' down voted a bunch of movies in order to get the movie the number one spot is nonsense. None of the movies that were in 'competition' had their ratings drop and, in fact, a couple had their ratings increase.
