Would you go back in time if you could?
I know, no toilet paper, tampons, computers, television, none of the things that we take for granted in 2008. But would you go back if you could? And what would you be?

shareOh yes! Imagine the excitement. Big parts of the world still unexplored and unexploited, the sciences being founded. The architechture, the fashion, the beauty of it. It was a golden era for literature and arts. I would completely trade the modern world for that.

I'd like to visit medieval Europe. Maybe watch the French and the English battle it out in a conflict of the Hundred Years' War.
Only for a visit though. I wouldn't want to live there.
Hey j-j-jaded
You got your mama's style but you're yesterday's child to me
So jaded
Definitely would like to go back in time. Two choices - for pure fun, it's back to the 1950's for me. Innocence was cool!
For reality, I'd like to go back to the 1970's - like in Peggy Sue Got Married. All the things I would change if I could...

I would, without a doubt. I've always been fascinated with the Civil-War era, so I'd love to just don those kind of clothes and walk the streets, seeing what's changed, what I'd recognize, etc. I don't think I'd want to stay there, so I'd have to know how to get back like Stuart did beforehand...
shareNO! No computer and TV and cinema,NO!
sharei wouldn't go to a specific time. i'd like to travel to my dreams. not about anything to do anything. a place.
I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates, who said, "... I drank what?"
Absolutely not...no deodorant, no air conditioning, no blow-dryers, Pampers, the flu is a killer virus, society is classist/elitist, most people have no education at all...no thanks. I'd gladly travel to the future, but not the past. I'd rather just snatch my own "Leopold" from the past and bring him here!
BIH Michael Jackson. The world is a little safer for kids now.
in the past. no pizza delivery too.

do you really believe it's better now? I doubt that.
but I'd never go back in time. I'd be too scared of staying there for the rest of my life.

I would not want to go back in history to the 1800s, 1700s, etc., when we didn't at least have the BASICS we do now (i.e. plumbing). However, there are things I did (which I wish I did not do) and things I didn't do (which I wish I did).
If I could go back in MY own past and change it, I would.
