Well here she's pretending that instagram and spotify means something. Fact is instagram followers are easily bought which is why she has so many, she spent a lot buying them..... spotify is meaningless because the real metric of whether a pop star is popular is how many songs they've sold or CDs they've sold... Gomez was doing everything she could to cherry pick little slivers of the social media world to prove she was the best... but even then she got beat by Grande... The truth of what female artist rules the roost is more clearly defined by how has the most album sales or who sells the most tickets to concerts in a year.
Wouldn’t social media following relate to demographics? Artists who attract teenage / pre-teenage girls will dominate these lists. In contrast, artists who appeal to men and adults will rank lower because men and adults do not care for social media.
