Stop ๐Ÿ‘ revering ๐Ÿ‘ billionaires ๐Ÿ‘

reply

Unless the billionaire is Bill Gates or Jeff Bezos. Right?

reply

Liberals hate Bezos. Don't you see them calling out Amazon for not letting their workers unionize?
And Bill Gates is a philanthropist.

reply

i really admire musk a lot.
there's lots of billionaires i've admired a lot, some not so much. i think musk for the most part is really great.

here's a good summary i saw posted on patreon:

https://www.patreon.com/posts/elon-musk-email-65140502

The Year Is 2000. Imagine Al Gore telling you about a liberal businessman he just met:

Heโ€™s an immigrant to America.

Heโ€™s the biggest advocate for getting America and the world off fossil fuels.

Heโ€™s donated $100 Million to develop technology to capture carbon from the atmosphere.

Heโ€™s not โ€œneuro typicalโ€. But has overcome his โ€œdisabilityโ€ and has become very successful.

In 2021 he will pay the largest amount of yearly taxes in American history.

Heโ€™s a leader in the solar power industry.

Heโ€™s a leader in the battery technology industry.

He's a leader in the software industry.

Heโ€™s a leader in the Artificial Intelligence industry. But heโ€™s one of the biggest critics of AI safety.

He started a company to make brain-computer Interfaces to help people with head and spine trauma to walk and communicate again. Or even control a robot prosthetics with their mind.

He started a tunneling company to cheaply fix transportation bottlenecks and reduce the social crime of using eminent domain against poor people and their neighborhoods.

He started to design humanoid robots to help in factories, doing dangerous or overly repetitive tasks.

He runs an electric car company that has become the most successful and most valuable car company in the history of the world.

His cars are the safest ever tested at the American insurance institute.

His cars can drive themselves and are statistically safer drivers on highways than just humans.

He started a satellite internet company that offers incredibly high speed internet access to any person, anywhere on earth- including countries that are run by oppressive authoritarians and dictators.

He taught himself rocket science and started a space transportation and rocket company that reinvented access to space and other planets. The US Congress ended the Space shuttle program and asked private industry to takeover delivering our American astronauts to orbit and beyond - he answered the call 1st. His services are 1/10th the cost what NASA was paying previously.

He was concerned that current K-12 schooling werenโ€™t preparing his children for the 21st century. So he started a private school for his employees children to focus on building entrepreneurs, inventors, software developers, and STEM leaders.

He believes free speech is the cornerstone of a healthy democracy.

He was worried about censorship by a social media company so he spent $3B of his own money to become the largest investor.

He doesnโ€™t like unions, but he has some of the most loyal and happy employees of any tech company.

He loves the movie Space Balls.

Occasionally, he publicly SAYS โ€œweird or stupid stuffโ€ but โ€ฆโ€ฆletโ€™s not forget he has a โ€œmental disabilityโ€.

And oh yeah, heโ€™s fucking smarter than 99.99% of us.

Iโ€™d say heโ€™s a liberal dreamboat!

reply

All billionaires are evil and have made their money exploiting workers.

The liberals are NOT anymore the liberals of the 2000.They are the new communists, you'll find a lot of socialists/communists now on the US left.

The "liberals" in USA have NOTHING to do with the idea of liberalism ... and the "democrats" are further and further from the idea of democracy.

Did this guy get banned for making a positive Elon post?

reply

no, for being a bot

reply

I think people hating on based god emperor Musk are the bots. Hail our supreme god king.

reply

Love him so much you delete your username within 2 hours of making this post! Good boy, Muskbot! Good Muskbot! Go eat an electric bone, Muskbot!

reply

i didn't delete my account today. there's a weird quirk here that allows me to post from an account that i've deleted, as long as i don't post on the device i was on when i deleted the account. weirdness. it's like a zombie account.

i'm not a musk fanboy or anything. i think he's mostly really admirable though.

it's snippy posts like yours that drove me to delete my account. i don't know why i'm back. i'm weak and lame, i guess.

reply

Well, I don't know what to tell you. I've spent quite a long time away from these boards myself from time to time because they do get pretty ugly.

If I'm driving you away, that's not cool of me.

On the other hand, I think you just ought to make a new account and use it rather than post from the deleted account. If you're sticking around.

Which I hope you do. Don't think it makes you weak to do so either, but that's up to you.

But I've seen way too much nonsense out of Elon Musk to buy that he's doing anything for anyone's good but his own.

reply

This is Metatron, right? So how did you manage to log into the delete account on the other device? Unless you never logged out of it on that device when the account was deleted? This is fascinating because I've always wondered about accounts named [deleted].

reply

i'm not metatron.
i hated that prick!
all i can tell you is that, whenever i come to this site from a laptop or mobile that isn't the one i used to delete the account, it shows me as logged in.
i can't see my posting history, i can't go into my profile to see the posts i've created, but i can see my old personal messages and respond to them, and i get notifications when someone responds to my posts, like you did.

weirdness.

reply

That's fascinating because the notification of your reply shows me your username, so now I know who you are. Glad you're still around, even if it's anonymously. Even though we disagreed on a couple of things our exchanges were always cordial and informative, and your contributions to this site are of better quality than most other users. In fact, the guy who thinks he was responsible for you deleting your account made a post expressing his regret and feels your contributions to Moviechat are more important/better than his. I would post a link to that thread here but that would reveal who you are to other users, and I am unable to click [deleted] to send it as a PM. Anyway, hopefully you'll create another account in the future. Cheers.

PS, make sure you don't delete the cookies in your browser or uninstall the browser you're using otherwise you'll lose access to this account.

reply

hey thanks, i appreciate all that.

i am trying to take an overall break from the online world right now. i might come back with a new username in a month or two. i have a history of doing that. i do get a bit wound up and emotional over silly little internet fights, so it's probably a good idea for me to step away for a bit every now and then. but it's probably not permanent, and odds are i'll likely be back in the not distant future.

happy moviechatting to you.

reply

"Liberals hate Bezos."

Probably why they all have fucking Alexas at home...

reply

So since both the people who run Google (Android) and Apple are liberal, no conservative owns a smartphone from either of them? Yeah, right.

Logic needs a little work there.

reply

I didn't make any of these claims?
All I did was to point out the hypocrisy of liberals who constantly pretend capitalism is the worst, but then live it to the fullest. They run to fucking Starbucks every day because having some bullshit coffee cup in your hand while you haste through life is en vogue for some stupid reason and they all have Netflix, Prime, order loads on Amazon, let Bezos spy on them with Alexa because it is cool to have an Alexa and throw money at absurdly overpriced tech garbage like iPhones... while still claiming to be "anti-capitalism" and "hating big corp".

What a fucking joke!

I am conservative.
I do not even claim to be anti-capitalism because I am certainly not.
All I own is a cheap smartphone while I happily skip the rest.

My logic is fine.
All that needs work is your reading comprehension.

reply

If you cannot see that there is hypocrisy on both sides you have zero understanding of human beings.

I have zero Alexas, smartphones or Starbucks visits.

reply

Who says I do not see hypocrisy on both sides?
Right now we were talking liberals and how they "hate Bezos" (they don't).

And yes, because I clearly meant every single liberal world wide, yes.
I did not exaggerate to make a point, I meant it 100% literal - you got it.

reply

No, we're only talking about billionaires. Check the OP. Do your homework.

reply

"Liberals hate Bezos."
Is what I commented on. What "homework"?
Really?
"Shit, no idea what to say...uhhhh let's just pretend he's like missing the point or something and ignore what he's saying!!"

reply

"Liberals" don't live their so-called standards. They demand everyone else does it instead.

reply

LOOLLLLL show me on the left who is revering Jeff Bezos. seriously yet again tis the right simping for Bezos.

reply

If they (some on the Right, some Conservatives, some on Fox-News) think it "Owns" the Libs, then it must be a good thing.

๐Ÿคฃ

reply

I just don't get this alternative reality they live in.where everything and anything can be X and next week not X if it means owning the libs

like last week someone said the dems want to be just like china, then the same guy brought up something china was doing and said "see china would never allow that if the dems were trying to implement that policy nd destroy their country like they are doing in the USA.

LOL well which is it?

reply

Cry harder

reply

I'm crying, alt-right.

reply

I'd like to revere 'em into the river!

reply

??? You talking about the Twitter takeover????
If so.....TWITTER WILL BE AWESOME AGAIN..

reply

It was never awesome to begin with.

reply

True. ๐Ÿ˜‚ It will be better though...

reply

Billionaires provide countless jobs, you idiot.

reply

And some of those jobs are extremely well paid ...

Not mine, mine it's only decent paid and it's not by a billionaire, but there is room to grow. And if I was to work for Bezos in the same position I would be a bit better paid.

Well, people are too dumb to understand economics. They see that they are hungry but don't understand why. They see that the billionaires are ... billionaires and they don't understand why. They just want to have what others have but without putting any kind of real effort and wit into it. Their reasoning is "I exist and I'm poor so gief me moni"

reply

๐Ÿ’ฏ

reply

[deleted]

Why?

And what is so bad about him buying Twitter? Twitter is a dogshit cesspool regardless, and thatโ€™s because of society in general, not because of a billionaire.

reply

Because no one should have all that power to control public discourse!

reply

Unless is a left censor. Then it's ok. Like it was before Musk bought it.

"If the left censors and controls public discourse is ok, it's even preferable"
"If a neutral party tries to REMOVE the censorship and to NOT control the public discourse is WRONG!!" (I don't remember Musk being an alt-right or even republican player).

reply

If you believe that then you should've been yelling at the Twitter board and their team of censors for constantly silencing voices that held views they didn't like.

Did you protest when Trump was removed?

reply

Trump deserved to be removed. He was dismantling the fabrics of a civilized society.

reply

I guess some voices are just too dangerous, huh?

That's always how it starts.

reply

That's the problem with you fringe kook, leftists. You think you're the arbiters of the world and who YOU say deserves to be removed, should be removed. You people are amoral and no one with any intelligence subscribes to you ideology.

reply

Like the billionaire who owns lefty rag the Washington Post? Interesting that you never posted the same comment on Jack Dorsey's MC page. Anyone who makes Twitter a level playing field in time for the midterms deserves to be revered. It's game on from this point. Dry your eyes, hun.

reply

#whataboutism

reply

It's not whataboutism.

Musk is actually REMOVING the censorship and makes Twitter less partisan. Obviously for the leftists it is a bad thing when they don't have control over the narrative.

reply

You sweet summer child

reply

Yeah - I know, for your kind anyone that's not a communist (your side) is alt-right ..

reply

Communist, lol. The 50s just called. They want their red scare back.

reply

You lose again.

reply

Argentinian is a hypocrite who called me a faggot
