Florence Pugh?

Is the theory that Florence Pugh stole Chloe’s career accurate? I don’t understand as to how Florence is getting all these high profile roles in big Hollywood films while Chloe’s career feels like it’s on the decline.

Chloe should have gotten that role in Black Widow and even Oppenheimer as I believe she would’ve done a far better job. I just don’t see the appeal with this Florence where everyone likes her. Who else agrees?

reply

You can't steal somebody's career.

reply

Evidently you can considering Florence took the roles in which Chloe would have done better in.

reply

Better agent maybe and more acting range.

reply

How do you know she would have done better?

reply

Chloë Grace Moretz was so over-sexualized as a child, I believe that may have caused her star to burn out as an adult.

reply

...by you?

reply

No, the industry and all the posts I remember seeing about her when she was well underage.
I love cats and guys. ;D

reply

Her role in Big Momma's House 2 was definitely over-sexualized.

I've never heard anything about Pugh taking her career, and I've never thought they were similar as performers, but undoubtedly Chloe's career in her later years has been a bit disappointing. She is undoubtedly talented though, so I hope things pick up for her.

She's had a lot of roles in films that just weren't interesting and that weren't especially well-received, and then when she finally did land a role in a really interesting project--Amazon's The Peripheral, in which I thought she was excellent--it gets canceled after one season.

I did also enjoy Shadow in the Cloud, but beyond that film you have to go all the way back to Hugo in 2011 to find something I'm enthusiastic about.

reply

Well they're basically the same person, they're definitely fighting for the same rolls. Both of them are already aged out of playing teenagers I doubt either will be relevant for much longer.

reply

Well they're basically the same person,

I don't see that at all. They both seem like troubled young women, but Moretz seems gentle, fragile and sensitive. Pugh comes across as hardened and surly. In the words of my ex-hippie guidance counselor from high school, Moretz gives off "warm fuzzies" and Pugh gives off "cold pricklies".

reply

Kind of like how Emma Stone stole Lindsay Lohan’s career

reply

Exactly. And Damian Lewis stole Carrot Top's career.

*Eric Stoltz.
