Kind of disappeared
Was in a lot of high profile stuff there for a while but very quiet these days. What happened?

shareYou got me curious.
Looks like she took a three year break after Penny Dreadful and Miss Peregrine's in 2016. Then she did Dumbo, which failed at the box office. She did a show called the Luminaries that I hadn't heard of. So a three year break and a movie and a TV show that didn't do much.
Looks like she's got a lot of things coming up, though. I wonder what caused the three year break. Personal life stuff or maybe she just didn't like the scripts?
Yeah, that Three Musketeers project sounds interesting. She's playing Milady, that's perfect.
shareI imagine a lot of actors have a 2 to 3 year gap in their work. Covid has been going on for about 2 now and a lot of movies that were being made when it started shut down. Prolly worst for non A list actors and actresses. Plus im not sure the box office numbers will ever be the same. The whole dynamic of society has been altered now. People avoiding large crowds. I know I haven't been to the movies since covid started. And not because I worry about getting covid, there just really hasn't been anything huge to go see. It also just feels different now, if it's not a blockbuster movie I feel like I can just wait for it to stream.
shareThe business has changed, with a lot of companies doing simultaneous streaming and theatrical releases, for sure. It's looking like that won't change.
Theaters have come back, but they aren't doing the business they used to. People who were declaring the theater business dead were wrong. They just aren't as big a part of the business as they used to be.
Just because cinemas have come back does not necessarily mean they are here to stay. A lot of them may not be sustainable if current conditions continue much longer.
shareI guess she doesn't fit in modern Hollywood roles. Characters in recent movies are mostly repeated clones again and again, representing some politically correct tropes. White females, you have the androgynous "hard to say if it's a male or a female" type and the "I'm a badass strong empow'red woman" type, and maybe some other type, but not much else.
Actresses that don't fit in those clones are very much screwed. Eva Green has that kind of beautiful mysterious Victorian aura. Not really much work for that nowadays.
Well, she's been involved with director Tim Burton for years, and Burton kind of takes over his SO's careers. When he was with Helena Bonham Carter she was in all his films, even in tiny roles, I mean she was Charlie's mother in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" because the only roles for grown women were as the children's mothers. It was the same with Lisa Marie when they were together, and when he broke up with Carter and took up with Green, she was the leading female in all his films, because when he's involved with a woman it seems he wants to work with her as much as possible.
And now Burton's career is slumping, which may or may not have something to do with Green doing less. Not much coming up for him except an "Wednesday Addams" series, which reportedly has Green and Burton's old pal Johnny Depp as Gomez and Morticia.
She's over 40 and has no Oscars... that pretty much seals an actresses career. Hollywood is now moving on the next group f 20 somethings to overuse for 10 or 15 years before doing yet another repeat.
shareShe turned 40. Next!
shareShe’s a gorgeous woman with big tits - you’re not really allowed a career in Hollywood if you fit that description. These days the jobs all go to man-like women, trans and lesbians.
shareShe isn't that hot and is a mediocre actress. Her 15 minutes are up.
shareI kinda think Hollywood gave her a shot at super-stardom and moved on. She was in a lot of big projects after Casino Royale, like you mentioned, and none really blew up. 300, Dark Shadows, Sin City... then she faded with big roles. Shame. I think she's talented and easy on the eyes.
sharePlus that tv show Camelot which only lasted one season.
