RIP to Best of the Bad Guys
In real life, he was actually a really nice guy. He will be missed:

Another one of those indispensable actors who always made anything he was in a little better whenever he appeared onscreen.
shareHe was pimp-daddy cool. I like him a lot on the screen.

Loved him as Conan's father, and as the Russian hunting the Wolverines in Red Dawn.
shareI always liked him in whatever I watched him in. Always a solid performance.
shareThe thing is he didn’t always play a bad guy. “Grave of the Vampire” he was “good” until the end & even then you just didn’t know. “Every Which Way You Can” it’s debatable to say he was a “bad guy” in that. Otherwise he was a pretty decent dude in that movie”. “Conan” he was Conan’s dad so no he wasn’t the heavy in that either. See? Easy.
shareI just heard about his passing. He was one of the solid character actors of TV for several decades. I enjoyed watching his work. RIP
