Actor Zachary Quinto has been banned from a Toronto restaurant after he berated staff and stormed away from his weekend brunch plans, the eatery's co-owner said.
I've heard of many people from the showbiz world that can become so insufferable or nasty that they get banned from different establishments for their treatment of staff. Apparently this guy is just another member of the Entitled community.
Probably the most famous "Do you know who I am?" story is this one:
Several years ago, Jane Fonda and her husband Ted Turner walked into a small family-owned diner and she started to raise a stink about having to wait for a table. I have no idea if Ted acted insufferable or not, I just know that she did.
After a short time, the owner, who was also the main chef, came out to see what was going on.
Fonda got right up in his face and said "Do you know who I am?" (Now, here is where the story gets GOOD!!!)
The owner stared her back square in the eyes and said the following (which I am probably paraphrasing):
"Yes I know who you are! Do you know who I am?"
She said "No, I don't"
And then came his monumentally powerful answer:
"Well, I am a Vietnam veteran who served in combat! And as long as I am owner here, you will NEVER be seated in my restaurant Hanoi Jane!"
"Specifically, the folks at Sir Scott's Oasis Steakhouse in Manhattan, Montana, where most versions of this e-mail claim the incident occurred, told us that although Jane Fonda had indeed been in their restaurant, she simply said she had to leave when she was told how long the wait was — Ms. Fonda engaged in no indignant "Do you know who I am?" histrionics, nor did she summon the owner to deliver a defiant "You're never eating in my restaurant!" put-down."
