Great Presence in ‘Good Times’

He was dignified, loving but also intimidating at times. I was disappointed when he left the show.

he was great.

The show suffered without him

Agree. He is a great actor.

The episodes with him are the best.

Shame that he left the show. He portrayed a strong and dignified presence. A real model dad who loved his kids and wife and wanted the best for them.

But JJ, “Kid Dynamite”, began to take over and John Amos objected to the fact that the show was getting silly.

It happens on a lot of shows. Happy Days sort of became the Fonzie Show. The character of Urkel took over Family Matters.

I wish there would have been a way to keep John Amos on the show and the Evans family intact.
