Lois Lane Recast Debate Has DCEU Fans Uniting To Defend Amy Adams

Henry Cavill is returning as Superman, and DCEU fans are irate at the suggestion that Amy Adams shouldn’t return as Lois Lane alongside him.

Do you ever wonder how these people would cope with a real problem in their lives?

reply

No shit.
TMC-4 would lose his reason for living.

reply

What the hell is that supposed to mean!?

reply

People deal with real problems every damn day in their lives. We are also very passionate about our entertainment (to take a break from real life problems) and will damn well point out things we aren’t happy with.

If Cavill is back as Superman, I hope Amy Adams is back as Lois. I'd rather they make a story with no Lois rather than simply recast the role. Do one with Lana Lang instead.

reply

It would be ridiculous to recast Lois and not Clark!

Okay, she was unmemorable in the role and didn't look her best, but everyone looked like crap in "BvsS" and "Justice League", for some reason that cinematographer chose to shoot everyone in light that gave them gray skin and that brought out the bags under their eyes. What they need to do is keep her, give her a few good lines, and tell the cinematographer to use softer lights for fuck's sake. Flattering lights can take 10-15 years off an actor's face, without use of CGI, and why don't they use a bit on Cavill as well? He's looking his age...

Recasting Lois Lane For Man Of Steel 2 Would Insult Superman Fans

Henry Cavill’s Superman might be getting a fresh start in the DC Universe, but that doesn’t mean Lois Lane, played by Amy Adams, should be recast.

The DCEU Is Over, but Amy Adams' Lois Lane Is Still the Best Part of It

Though the DC Extended Universe had several controversial movies and casting choices, Amy Adams' take on Lois Lane was always a high point.

reply

Absolutely nothing about Amy Adams said 'Lois Lane' to me. I never bought her as the character for a moment. It was an awful piece of casting. Also, there was zero chemistry between her and Cavill.

reply

It’s mute now since Cavill isn’t returning and they cast Rachel Brosnahan as the new Lois (a damn good choice IMO) but Adams was an awful Lois.

She’s a redhead instead of brunette, she’s ten years older than Clark (seemed like Clark had a mommy fetish because she looked like Martha), and even worse she had a grumpy, dour personality.

She ruined every scene she was in and I never believed for a moment Clark would fall for her (unless he had a mommy fetish) because they had absolutely no chemistry.

She didn't look older than Cavill, she looked the same age - fortyish. But of course moviegoers are so used to seeing fortyish men paired with twentyish women, that she looked older than expectations. But as I said above, everyone in those stupid movies looked haggard and older than in other films.

But everyone in the Cavill Superman films had a dour, grumpy personality, because for some reason they tried to make a Batman-style Superman film, where the whole world seems gray and dour.
