I remember when I noticed him appearing in movies like proper films I was like 'uh? really?'..that might've been about the time Hollywood started to lose its mystique ..you just got the impression that anyone could be in movies like it wasn't special anymore.. I know theres always been pop stars being in movies going way back to Elvis but there was just something about when the modern day 'pop artists' like this guy being in proper movies just seemed wrong .
That FB movie he was in was kind of like a 'brat pack' movie for the modern age though
He's not a great actor but he's not terrible either. He's good enough to have supporting roles in, as you would say, proper films, but he probably shouldn't be the lead. Though I thought In Time was an interesting film and he did well enough in it.

shareYes its not good. I gave up about half way through. Minor spoiler ahead if you plan on seeing it. The basic plot is Timberlake gets cheated in online poker and heads to Costa Rica to confront the online casino owner (Affleck) who subsequently offers to pay back the money lost in addition to funding his college education or he can stay and take a job guaranteed 7 figures in 3 months and 8 figures thereafter. lol.

When any celebrity begins with childish or girly stuff (e.g. Nsynch), the celebrity will have trouble moving on to more mature works. See how many Disney channel celebrities have had trouble breaking the image.
You had to have been there to understand. A lot of people who were big stars, sex symbols, and famous actors 20 years ago have faded away into obscurity. It's just how the 'biz works.
