Had a comedian done it about Obama . . .
they would have been crucified by the media. If it's against a conservative (not just Trump) they don't care.

shareDude, she lost her job. Has had everyone from Anderson Cooper to Chelsea Clinton calling her out on it. Has had every single guest appearance and contract cancelled and her career is pretty much dead. I think it's safe to say that she got crucified. There was no liberal bias here.

Consequences ------- Robert Cray
Hey, that's good news. Not good for her, I mean, but good to know that the whole world isn't crazy. I saw it by accident when it first came out and there had as of yet been no backlash, but I don't have regular access to cable television, so I missed out on the latest info. I'm glad to know there are still limits. Side note: her career was already dead as far as I knew, but you said "she lost her job" and I didn't even know she had one, so that tells you what I know. Not much.
shareNow we just need the Trumpster Fire to lose his job and the world will be smiling again. Make the planet great again!
shareAgain? How old are you? The world hasn't been smiling over a US President in my lifetime.
shareThe smart people of the world were smiling the past 8 years... and then 2017 happened.
share?? The past 8 years were pretty damaging to liberty-minded people in America, as we're the previous 8, as were the previous 8, as were than previous 4. The only people smiling during the last 8 years should be the insurance companies. Everyone else got the shaft in one way or another.
shareyou keep repeating those hollow phrases, saying absolutely nothing. we get it, for you the world is only black and white. how about an actualy debate? can you do that?
pick a point you want to criticize, articulate your opening statement and then put some facts behind it.
I'm all about the gray areas. I get it. Long diatribes are tiring on a phone keyboard, though. The Patriot Act, warrant free wiretapping, indefinite detention, more political spying. Take your pick. I don't break the law (yet), but soon something I'm doing legally will become illegal. I'll either have to stop, or become a criminal.
shareNow we just need the Trumpster Fire to lose his job and the world will be smiling again.
There is liberal bias here, the news channels and daily talk shows would of flipped their s**t over it, called her all sort of things, instead I saw news panelists not even wanting to talk about it deny there was a problem.
shareShe had - and still has - A LOT of people supporting her for her Trump picture. Despite what she went through, she still has a career. If James Woods had done it, Hollywood would have permanently blacklisted him.
shareAnd she still has a Twitter account, unlike so many conservatives as well as Trump...
shareYes, this is good to know.
As much as many of us despise Trump, it's good to see that standards and principles were applied across the board. That sets a good example that hopefully will apply in the context of both DNC and GOP politicians and representatives.
Chelsea Clinton in particular has more reason than most to detest Trump, but good on her for putting objective principles and decency first!
Well Rosanne made some offensive comments about Obama and everything you just said came true. Although the right could always say that they are going to apply leftist logic and say that her comments were OK because "it was done in the name of satire"
shareGood people here.
shareHad a comedian done it about Obama, they would have been doing it about someone who didn't spend his presidency publicly bullying, threatening and mocking people.
shareYou said "publicly" . . . I guess that matters for something. Not much, but something.
shareYes, it means it's proven. It also says a lot about the intelligence and character of a president if they can't help themselves from behaving in such a way. If something being proven doesn't mean much then I'm not surprised.
I get that you latched onto the word "publicly" to imply that Obama bullied, threatened and mocked in private, regardless of any supporting evidence. Unfortunately for you I recognise this for the cheap shot it is, which should be expected from a fanatical Trump supporter/Obama hater. Because for that type of person politics is like sport, where adherence to 'the cause' comes before any considerations of truth or decency.
Nice reactionary response! I don't happen to be a fanatical Trump supporter. I didn't vote for him the first time around and I don't know that I will this time around. He's a blowhard, and I don't agree with the way he operates. I am also not an Obama hater. I felt a lot of his policies were counterproductive and I didn't care for his smug arrogance sometimes, but I generally liked him as a person. I thought most of his cronies were abysmal choices, though.
As far as "proven" goes, the Obama administration has done a lot more shady stuff than the current one that has been proven. We are about to find out about more. He had 8 years, though. I'm sure the current one will catch up.
That wasn't the point of this 3 year old thread, however. I detest hypocracy and double standards, particularly among the media elites. That's what this thread was about.
In the time since I posted this, Mrs. Griffin has actually paid for her actions pretty substantially. That has surprised me. I think it was justified, but I don't think she should be permanently blackballed. I think she has served her time.
If you think it's even debatable that Trump and Obama are treated equally by the US media, you are out of your freaking mind. The way Trump/Obama are treated could be compared to how much light is on the surface of the sun vs how much light is in a sealed black box buried beneath a 1000 feetof black coal dust.
It is not debatable. If you debate this fact, you are a simpleminded idiot. I don't say this lightly.
Black Privilege is very real.
