Always plays the same character
Am I wrong?
shareI mostly agree. He can act different every now and then, but he's usually the same.
shareYes
shareAnd yet his villains are often the best thing in a TV series.
shareNothing wrong with being type-cast. Plenty of actors play the same character in different movies and shows, and people still flock to them.
As long as he’s still giving a great performance, even if it’s the same performance, people will watch him.
eh, this may be true if you look at his post 2008 work. It's not true if you go through his earlier work. Look at the cop he played in The Usual Suspects. Cool character, very emotive.
shareI don't think BugginOut (Do The Right Thing) and Gus Fring are similar characters.
shareDon’t forget Maxium Overdrive. Lol
shareFor the first half of his career he was a very busy character actor, with a variety of roles nothing like Gus Fring. He was a regular actor in Spike Lee films, often playing loud, boisterous characters. Gus was definitely his breakout role however & the industry has typecast him ever since.
shareProbably that's what he is paid for.
shareI know him mostly as Stan Edgar from the Boys and Gustavo Fring. They are the same characters indeed
