One of the worst actors ever.

Literally embodies all the annoying and ineffective mannerisms of a theater actor, in the most godawful way, matched only by Ian McKellen. Again, how did he have a career? I have no idea.

You stopped posting 2 years ago. Did something happen?

reply

Nonsense, he was very good at what he did!

Whenever he appeared, you knew the film was going to get more fun. He had a rare gift on that front.

reply

Agreed, he was one of those actors who's always fun to watch, and who indeed brought something to any role he played, as you say.

As Jeff Spicoli would say, what's your problem bud?! I love Roddy and most people do. He's a great actor on the level of those he rose with: Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, i.e. British actors of the '50s-'70s. Such a long list of great performances:
How Green was my valley (Alex Trebek's favorite film)
Poseidon Adventure
and literally hundreds of top films and TV shows.
All I can think of is you don't like British actors (even though he became American) and could not possibly seen more than a few of his films.

reply

I always liked him. I never realized he was a childhood actor until a few years ago.
