sharehow can anyone not love Shatner? Hope he lasts to 100.
shareBecause he's a dick? This guy is so narcissistic he couldn't even pretend to care about Leonary Nimoy's passing enough to even attend the funeral.
If I had Shatner's money, I would have written that charity he was to appear at a check for the entire amount they would have collected and high tailed my ass to my friend's funeral to pay my respects - damn the cost or appearance commitment.
From what I read, it seems he did care.

I can't understand exactly why this is blowing my mind.
We've come full circle.
bc Captain Kirk from TOS and The Wrath of Khan and the rest of the films is going into space for real. Be like if Clint Eastwood was going to become a real life serving police officer or Stallone enlisting in the US Special forces, or Cruise training as a genuine fighter pilot (which he probably is) etc
shareI'm just waiting when the first rocket with passengers explodes and puts this space turism business on ice...

OK, but I hope you're not actively hoping for such a thing to happen. But I do agree: they're getting complacent. It's like with Christine McCauliffe on the shuttle. Even under the best of conditions, this is a very dangerous thing to do.
I think it's too early, and also a waste since no one really knows what externalities there are here, what the real costs are.
shareThe first starship captain will be the first Star Trek astronaut.
shareYou know someone’s going to yell:
Captain on the Bridge.
This is so awesome.
