Never made a good movie since Black Hawk Down

His last great movie was Black Hawk Down 20 years ago. Everything he has done ever since has been subpar. He should really call it a day at this point.

Matchstick Men (2003)
Kingdom of Heaven d.c. (2005)
A Good Year (2006)
American Gangster (2007)
Body of Lies (2008)
The Martian (2015)
All the Money in the World (2017)

Would be easier just to list his bad movies. Haven't seen The Last Duel or House of Gucci yet, but I've heard good things about them.

The Last Duel is a great film.

Also you're correct. Films such as Matchstick Men, Kingdom of Heaven, American Gangster & The Martian are all very good films. I never trust anyone who says Ridley Scott hasn't made a great film in x number of years. It's a recurring take from people which has no real basis. Yeah he's had one or two lesser films coupled with a few box office flops but he's still making great films to this day.

I've even seen one or two numpties call him a two-hit-wonder (Alien & Blade Runner). Hilariously awful take. Some people really have sky high standards on what constitutes a good film.

Agreed, I actually know someone who loves Blade Runner and Alien but thinks all other Ridley Scott films are awful.

For me House of Gucci and Alien: Covenant are the only two films of his I’ve seen that I really didn’t care for.

I've yet to see House of Gucci but American Gangster and Body of Lies were both very good. He's always been hit and miss though, even in the 80's.

American gangster, body of lies, the martian were very good. House of Gucci was ok. Watched The Last Duel last night, didn't like it. Anyway, he did have good movies dince Black Hawk Down

Im a huge Ridley Scott fan and I love most of his films but Kingdom of Heaven , A Good Year , Robin Hood , Exodus: Gods and Kings , All the Money in the World ,The Last Duel & House of Gucci are all weak films. Even flat our boring.

I have tried 4-5 times to watch House of Gucci and I'm only 20 min in.

I didn’t really like Black Hawk Down, the only one’s he’s directed that I liked were Alien, Blade Runner and Gladiator.
