Baldwin now "acting" like he didn't even pull the trigger

Interesting defense!

The story from the very beginning, from multiple witnesses, was that Baldwin fired the gun, so obviously that's what happened!

If the gun spontaneously fired, this would've been the initial story, and Baldwin would've been merely attached to the story as an innocent bystander.

Obviously his extensive legal team has clued him in on what "their" defense is going to be, and coached him on how to "act" in future interviews.

I hope that multiple sources come forward, without risk to their careers, to disprove Alec's ridiculous claim. Put him away for both perjury and manslaughter.

Why the hell would he use the gun if it has a history of firing without the trigger being pulled? This is on top of the fact that the weapons experts familiar with SAG/industry guidelines on handling guns walked off due to set conditions. And in their place came people who were using live rounds in the guns. Shouldn't that have been even more of a reason to not use that gun let alone point it in the direction of crew members?

reply

It's possible he didn't actually pull the trigger, as the gun had reportedly misfired before.

Which doesn't get his ass off the legal hook, except perhaps for manslaughter. As one of the film's producers, he was legally responsible for everyone's safety, and thinks were so unsafe that a misfiring gun wasn't replaced and people felt free to put live ammo into the damn thing. There's about 10,000 kinds of legal negligence in this case, so Baldwin and his fellow producers are colletively fuckec.

reply

I'm calling bullshit. Single action revolvers don't cock themselves, nor discharge without help. Live ammo shouldn't have been in the gun but he shouldn't have pointed it at another person either. They broke all the rules that were in place for decades.

CraigC you are entirely correct, but most people don't know jack about firearms, and his attorneys will make sure the jury is made up of twelve gun-clueless people who can be easily manipulated.

The whole didn't pull the trigger claim is clearly a cop out or overreaction.

reply

It wasn't really a Cop Out. It unfortunately was more of a Cinematographer Out .

Alec Baldwin thinks he's ghetto now. "I dindu nuffin"

classic afro murican defense lol

Everyone can see past his "I didn't pull the trigger" BS, there's plenty of gun experts on YouTube disproving it and showing how that type of gun works, industry professionals are slamming Baldwin's statements and choice of words.

He should be charged with involuntary manslaughter which would really be a open and shut case. As for perjury, their is no way to charge him with that. His statement wasn't made under oath, which is why his lawyers coached him on what to say and how to act. They know he can't be put on the stand if he is charged because he is an idiot and the cross examination would rip him apart. So their whole strategy is to have him give this bullshit story now in the hopes that when the trial happens the jury would be made up of idiots that watched the interview and believed it thus giving him some reasonable doubt without the need of putting him on the stand.

He has learned that he can say anything in the face or getting busted. Remember his wife's "nationality?" Any time he is caught in a lie or bad behavior, he gets away with it with a simple denial even when it is obvious.
