By her dad’s side. Alec Baldwin‘s daughter, Ireland Baldwin, responded to his prop gun shooting accident with support for her father.

News broke on Thursday, October 21, that Alec—who shares Ireland with his ex-wife, Kim Basinger—had accidentally misfired a prop gun that killed cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins, and injured director, Joel Souza, on the set of his upcoming movie, Rust, at the Bonanza Creek Ranch in New Mexico.

After the accident, Ireland took to her Instagram to express her condolences to Hutchins’ family and friends, as well as send love to her father. “My love and support go to Halyna Hutchins’ family and friends. Sending healing thoughts to Joel Souza. And wishing I could hug my dad extra tight today,” she wrote. Ireland also slammed journalists who have contacted her private phone number for information about her father. “To the handful of journalists who have been contacting me, you’re despicable and insensitive,” she captioned a screenshot of a text from a reporter. “To anyone who’s been giving out my number, please lose it and don’t contact me again.”

Along with Ireland, Alec’s brother, Stephen Baldwin, also sent his support to his sibling. “Asking for your prayers tonight. Friends, not much can be said other than please pray for all involved in the wake of this tragic accident. Thank you,” Stephen wrote in an in Instagram.

In a statement after the accident, Alec expressed his “shock and sadness” over Hutchins’ death, and confirmed that he’s been “fully cooperating” with the police on how the misfire occurred. “There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours,” he tweeted. “I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family. My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna.”

A source told People on Friday that Alec is still “trying to get his head around” how the accident could’ve occurred. “Alec is still trying to get his head around everything that happened,” the insider said. “This has been devastating. It’s been incredibly difficult.”

In an interview with The Daily Mail, Hutchins’ husband, Matthew, confirmed that he’s been in communication with Alec since the accident. “I have spoken with Alec Baldwin and he is being very supportive,” said said Matthew, who shares an 8-year-old son with the late cinematographer. Matthew also told Insider that he doesn’t have “words to communicate the situation” yet, which is why he hasn’t officially commented. “I don’t think there are words to communicate the situation,” he said. “I am not going to be able to comment about the facts or the process of what we’re going through right now, but I appreciate that everyone has been very sympathetic. I think that we will need a little bit of time before we can really encapsulate her life in a way that is easy to communicate.”

Rust Movie Productions LLC also confirmed on Friday that the film set has been shut down and production on the movie has been indefinitely paused after Hutchins’ death. The entire cast and crew has been absolutely devastated by today’s tragedy, and we send our deepest condolences to Halyna’s family and loved ones,” the company said in a statement Thursday. “We have halted production on the film for an undetermined period of time and are fully cooperating with the Santa Fe Police Department’s investigation. We will be providing counseling services to everyone connected to the film as we work to process this awful event.”

'You are a disgusting human being': Ireland Baldwin hits back at Candace Owens after she calls Alec Baldwin's involvement in Rust shooting 'poetic justice'

She said it "would" be poetic justice if not for innocent people getting hurt. Not defending it, but it is different than your quote.

On one end, I can understand and get Ireland for wanting to stand up and defend her father against people like Candace Owens who want to politicize this tragedy and jump straight to conclusions. But on the other end, I can't take her remark about Owens being a disgusting human being and what not when her dad isn't exactly a saint in his own right. Alec Baldwin wasn't exactly Mr. Rogers even before the shooting, so it very much a case of the offspring of the "pot calling the kettle black".

True.

Alex Baldwin was a producer on this set ... meaning that he set policy, and the production was apparently being used to launder money and avoid taxes - as well as screwing the union and not honoring their contract or even paying them. Union members complained about the gun safety not being respected as well as Covid safety.

Then when the union finally walked off the set, the producers called the police ... at which point this killing happened because there were no union professionals on the job any longer.

A lot of irrelevant noise on this ... maybe to hide the real issues behind this situation because the producers including Alex Baldwin called the police on the union who were packing up to leave because gun and covid safety had not been respected, they also were lodged 50 miles away so they had to drive to and from work over an hour when they were promised lodging nearby the set. They had also not been paid. So, the union was being screwed, and they left, and as soon as they left they put incompetent non-professional people in charge of the guns and this set became a murder scene?

Ireland Baldwin Thanks Fan for "Beautiful" Memory of How Dad Alec Baldwin Treated Her on Set as a Kid

https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/ireland-baldwin-thanks-fan-beautiful-003527559.html

Ireland Baldwin is continuing to show her love for her dad, Alec Baldwin, in the wake of an accidental shooting involving the actor on the set of his Western film, Rust.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Oct. 27, the 26-year-old model shared a screenshot of a comment from a fan who recalled their experience working at a company that produced Alec's 2000 children's movie, Thomas and the Magic Railroad. According to the fan, Alec, now 63, only had one simple request in his rider at the time: that he "had milk and cereal in his hotel room for when his daughter was visiting."

"That was it. That was the whole rider," the user said of the actor's personal requests. "I'll always remember that."

It seems that Alec's sweet gesture meant a lot to Ireland, who wrote in the caption of her post, "Amongst some of the most abhorrent and threatening comments, emails, text messages, and voicemails I've been getting... this beautiful comment stands alone."

She added in what appeared to be a message to those who have been leaving her negative comments: "I know my dad, you simply don't. I love you, Dad."

Ireland previously said she would be taking a social media hiatus following the tragic incident, which left cinematographer Halyna Hutchins dead and director Joel Souza injured.

Her latest post comes five days after she shared on social media that journalists have been reaching out to her for interviews regarding the fatal shooting. In a since-expired post on her Instagram Stories, she shared an alleged message from an unnamed "freelance journalist" and called it "despicable and insensitive."

"To anyone who's been giving out my number, please lose it and don't contact me again," she wrote at the time. "My love and support go to Halyna Hutchins' family and friends.
