Guy Pearce comes forward with accusations against Spacey

I was close to giving Spacey the benefit of the doubt after Rapp was made out with fabricating much of his story, but now that Pearce has come forward, I’m inclined to put Spacey in my Will Smith and Kanye West category of permanently written off.
Pearce has nothing to gain from coming forward, the man is a legend in the acting biz, imo anyways.

In response to Pearce’s claims, Spacey said: “We worked together a long time ago. If I did something then that upset you, you could have reached out to me. We could have had that conversation, but instead, you’ve decided to speak to the press, who are now, of course, coming after me, because they would like to know what my response is to the things that you said. You really want to know what my response is? Grow up.“

Spacey also mentioned a time after L.A. Confidential when Pearce apparently flew to the set of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil just to spend time with him.

“Did you also, by the way, tell the press that a year after we shot ‘L.A. Confidential’ you flew to Savannah, Georgia, while I was shooting ‘Midnight in the Valley of Good and Evil’ just to spend time with me?” Spacey asked. “Did you tell the press that, too? Or does that not fit into the victim narrative you have going? I apologize that I didn’t get the message that you don’t like spending time with me. Maybe there was another reason, I don’t know, but that doesn’t make any sense. That you would have just been leading me on, right? But here you are now on a mission, some 28 years later, after I’ve been through hell and back… You want to have a conversation? I’m happy to do so, anytime, anyplace. We can even do it here, live on X, if you like. I’ve got nothing to hide. But Guy — you need to grow up. You are not a victim.“

Visiting someone a year after working with them is something you do if you got close to that person. Kind of odd thing for someone to do for an abuser.

Abused people often do stay in relationships with an abuser, but this is a guy going out of his way to visit an ex co worker essentially.

I'm curious what the response was, I have to admit.

Direct from Spacey's account.

reply

Spacey's deflective response comes off as him being full of shit.

"But Guy — you need to grow up. You are not a victim.“

- Kevin Spacey's lawyer and PR team

reply

Lol, are you really suggesting Kevin's point isn't extremely valid because he's irritated that someone is trying to reclaim headlines by attempting to smear him?

reply

Are you suggesting 50+ accusations spanning multiple continents over 30+ years is all merely a coincidence? Guy Pearce's tears during that interview are proverbial drops in the bucket of tears from the boys and young men ravished over the decades by Spacey and his dead eyes.

List of Spacey's accusers:
https://www.vox.com/culture/2017/11/3/16602628/kevin-spacey-sexual-assault-allegations-house-of-cards

Note how long that article is. This is just a list of Spacey's victims that have come forward.

reply

Yes, people are greedy and opportunistic and come in a flood when they smell blood in the water. Have you considered why he's never been convicted of a crime despite all of those allegations?

reply

That seems dismissive. Why is it that other actors, gay or bi and otherwise, don't have such a history? Associating all the claims with #MeToo was brilliance on the part of his team.

Now it seems they're wise enough to adopt the Trump era strategy that the best defense is an offense.

reply

There is a history of this happening for sure. Why do you think people like Keanu reeves will literally not even touch his female fans for photo ops? They know people will ruin you for the almighty dollar.

Midnight in the Valley of Good and Evil

Dude doesn't even know the title to his own movie.

reply

if you watch the X video, he says it correctly

reply

Did you also, by the way, tell the press that a year after we shot ‘L.A. Confidential’ you flew to Savannah, Georgia, while I was shooting ‘Midnight in the Valley of Good and Evil’ just to spend time with me?” Spacey asked

I've always liked Guy Pearce but wow, what a clown...

He needs to have some kind of response to this otherwise his comments pretty much look pathetic.

reply

"while I was shooting ‘Midnight in the Valley of Good and Evil’ "

Is this what Spacey literally said? Because it's "garden", not "valley".

reply

I saw it. Pearce was way out of line. I am writing Guy Pearce off. This and other comments made recently make me think he is more than ever like his character in The Brutalist.

reply

During LA Confidential Kevin Spacey targeted Guy Pearce because he was the most likely to be duped. Russell Crowe would have snapped Kevin Spacey in half.

Kevin Spacey has great friends Jeffrey Epstein (Jewish) and Ghislaine Maxwell (Jewish), why does Kevin Spacey not hang around with them? They are the salt of earth from Israel, who are harmless to all their neighbors, especially children. Royalty approve too.

reply

What do you mean targeted? Are you talking about the movie. Because in the movie Spacey goes over to Dudley’s house to talk about Rolo Tamassi. Too late. And, he felt guilty about setting up the young kid in that planned scandal and tried to stop it. Again too late. Bud would snap anybody’s head off. If you’re not talking about the movie, Crowe would be more gracious. But I don’t believe Pearce was ever “targeted.” Pearce is full of crap. Pearce is an excellent actor but perhaps is not such a great guy - as it turns out a bit of a sleaze. Now, Spacey is a great actor of all actors and trying to come back and revive his career which we ALL want. And then Pearce putting his two cents in - now - of all things. What a friend. Not such a great husband either. Like I said - The Brutalist character was perfect casting and so was The Count of Monte Cristo.

You’re asking me why Kevin didn’t hang out with Epstein? Did you hang out with Epstein? What does Jewish have do with anything? Spacey is not Jewish. Your last paragraph shows signs of mental decline.

reply

Kevin Spacey and Ghislaine Maxwell (Jewish) sat on the thrones, if you see the photographs.

Jeffrey Epstein (Jewish), Kevin Spacey and Ghislaine Maxwell (Jewish) all have been accused of taking advantage of children with some in jail, some excused at Southwark crown court (Many have been but need a royal connection to stop the royal court of justice in the UK), then we have Prince Andrew in that photograph too. The system is rigged, you know that. Prince Andrew :

"Prince Andrew publically states having never met Virginia Giuffre, yet pays £12 million as an out-of-court settlement to Virginia Giuffre which Prince Andrew has never even met"

Legal depositions of Giuffre in an orgy with 7 or 8 other sex trafficked underage girls from Eastern Europe, Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein himself

@letess Kevin Spacey is a great actor I agree. Even when I first saw him in 1989 on "see no evil, hear no evil", his presence, timing, voice emphasis, movement. I immediately knew that he just has that acting charm.

No matter how much you want their work career to be revived, it is over. Prince Andrew in the UK is ousted from any public role. Kevin Spacey is old and should retire. He got away with groping a few children, but pushing this on Twitter/ X "I am untouchable, protected and demand to win", it is not a good strategy.

Just accept Kevin Spacey is old and will retire now.

reply

Spacey is not old and should never retire. Spacey was found not liable in a 2022 lawsuit in New York. In a separate case in London, he was acquitted by a jury of sexual assault charges in 2023. He’s been exonerated and being gay is not a crime. You sound illiterate. Your name should be lockingupfreedom. Pearce is an idiot et tu.

I am tired of people being canceled. I want to see Spacey in movies. I don’t care what you want to see or not see. I have a right to see what I want to see. Excellence.

reply

"underage girls from Eastern Europe"

honestly, this is bar-none the best place to grab girls from

reply

One thing is certain: In Modern day 2025, even if you've been proven to be Not Guilty against accusations like Spacey had, Social Media is unforgiving and would believe he's guilty whether they have evidence or not. Social media is a vindictive world

reply

but at least if you're hella goodlooking, like Armie Hammer, you can mos def make a comeback,
trouble with Spacey is he has always looked like a sadsack accountant shlub

reply

Ok, even without reading the article I'd be willing to bet.....

Pearce's people feel he needs some PR.

IOW, it's a bunch of BS. Maybe Spacey was inappropriate - one doesn't doubt that...

But why is Pearce speaking up now? If the events occurred 30 years ago, and he didn't want to speak then - its been what, 7-8 years now since others came out against Spacey. Why didn't Pearce join in then?

It's a lame and phony PR stunt by Pearce.

Just my take.....

reply

I totally agree with this. You seem to see this with female stars too. It's only after they are no longer getting major studio roles that they feel the need to "speak up". It happens way too often to be a coincidence.

reply

Yeah, a lot of females, too. ALthough some of the females are legit....

Unless of course there was a massive conspiracy against Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby.

WHich is impossible - some of those claims HAD to be legit.

With Pearce, c'mon man, it's obvious.

A bit too late in the game to be making accusations - unless of course you have an ulterior motive.

Anyway, glad we are on the same page.

reply

Yeah, my phrasing could have been better. Undoubtedly there are plenty of legitimate cases out there. Weinstein getting recorded showed what a real piece of shit he is. I meant to say it seems like the celeb bandwagon accusers are generally the type to want a publicity bump or a payday.

reply

Yeah, I'm with you on this.

I'd be willing to bet a majority of the claims are a bunch of BS.

"Hey, lets get your name out there - I know what we'll do - we will claim sexual harassment!"

This includes both Cosby and Weinstein...

"Hey, even though nothing happened to you, lets jump on the Cosby and Weinstein bandwagons! We'll get a check, some network publicity! ANd we wont have to pay for it!"

I can see plenty of managers/advisors plotting this out to their celeb clients.

However, getting back to Cosby and Weinstein - you're talking over a dozen claims each. It would seem SOME of them have to be legit.

ANyway, this is how I see it. It appears we are on the same page.

reply

Pearce already publicly addressed it twice before,
this time he made these comments during an hour long podcast where the interviewer directly asked him while they are discussing LA Confidential

reply

He did?

If so , I stand corrected. I had no idea he was involved in the Kevin Spacey mess.

reply

Another former major star whos past his prime and seeking a way to get attention again. He's been doing B movies for years now. Thats why he suddenly felt the urge to talk about something that happened so long ago. I love how Spacey calls him out on flying to him to hang out with him, well after these alleged incidents took place. I'm sure most sexual abuse victims buy flights to chill with their abuser.. 🙄. This shit got old long ago.

reply

uh, he's doing a press tour for the current movie he's in, nominated for 10 Oscars,
not sure if that's a B-movie or not

reply

Fine, he does arthouse films too. The point is stil the same. He's in movies that don't pay well and nobody is seeing.

reply

32K ratings on IMDB.com,
ain't nobody seeing this artsy fartsy crap

reply

Yeah, its pulled in a whopping 14 million in the US, because everyone is flocking to see it. 🤣😂😅

reply

Believe it or not, movies revolve around more than the box office

reply

IronMan 3 is a B movie?

reply

I can believe that Spacey made a move, but I really doubt Pearce was abused or traumatised by this since he flew to a movie set where Spacey was filming a year later.

reply

Between this fiasco and Pearce stepping in the mud over his Memento comments, that dude isn't doing too good.

reply

dude is gay
