....to see a highly dubious and most likely staged incident at the Oscars telecast and now this is all you people have to talk about during a period when the world is under threat of nuclear war.
AMERICAN IDIOT #1: I think Will Smith was wrong!
AMERICAN IDIOT #2: no Chris Rock was wrong! He should never have made those alopecia jokes about Jada!
AMERICAN IDIOT #3: God bless Will Smith! He just protecting his family!
BIDEN: The US is committed to a military action that could last decades. We have to take up the reins of leadership in the New World Order!

Yeah we Americans are easily distracted...but we created the internet, the television, the chocolate chip cookie, the atomic bomb, the submarine, the airplane, peanut butter, the thermonuclear bomb, the frisbee, the cheeseburger/hamburger, baseball/football/basketball, the skyscraper, Rock and Roll, Jazz, the hot dog, the revolver, the running shoe, the smart phone, ketchup, condensed soup....and the hula-hoop.

A people who are easily bored can be a strength.

Is this one of those list that aren't really accurate. Like the "10 things invented by black people" lists, which show one invention by a black person, but 9 inventions that they had a small part in constructing or improving, which though important, are not a case of them inventing it at all?

I mean, I see 2 bombs, a gun, 5 foods known to cause an increase in mortality, and an outright lie about inventing 'football'. I assume that's actually AMERICAN football, where you use hands more than your feet anyway...

I guess with so many terrible inventions and a lie, it might be a real list after all.

I was just reading through this thread. This particular American 100% believes the entire Rock/Smith incident was staged. On a side note, to the OP - a lot of what you say makes perfect sense. Other comments make it seem as if you're half nuts. As far as the Jesus Christ comment - he isn't coming back. Odds are a man named Jesus Christ never even existed.

Despite the real world ramifications, the government is constantly engaging in dubious and staged events. Deep down, most people realized this and just ignore it. It's not like people have always been distracted by celebrity & entertainment. I don't think this is unique to Americans
