During the filming of Phantom Menace, Keira Knightley's mother visited the set. She actually walked up to Natalie Portman when she was wearing the makeup and started to talk to her as if she was Keira. She didn't realize it wasn't her own daughter.

Place the face of Portman on the body of Knightley and you have the hottest girl alive.

There's a reason Kiera Knightley was chosen to play Sabé in "Star Wars Episode I." They needed an actress that looked as much like Natalie Portman as possible so nobody would notice the difference between her and the real Queen Amidala. It helped that Natalie's character wore big, elaborate costumes with white makeup too. The choice was a very good one, because they did so well at blending the two girls' looks, even their own mothers couldn't tell them apart when visiting them on set.

I remember reading in a novel about Queen Amidala's early days, that Sabé was the first girl recruited to be one of her handmaiden/bodyguards, and her closest friend among the handmaidens. Of all the original 5 chosen (she had 7 later on), Sabé was her favorite. All the handmaidens were chosen because they were similar in age, height, and weight to the Queen, and looked a lot like her. Any one of them could step in and pretend to be her in times of danger, but Sabé was the best of the group to do that.
