In April, Murray was accused of “inappropriate behavior” on the set of Being Mortal, an adaptation of the book by Atul Gawande and the directorial debut of comedian Aziz Ansari, which shut down production in April.

The latest revelations, in a report from Puck News, suggest Murray allegedly straddled a younger female production assistant when the two were in “close proximity” to a bed on the set. He then kissed her on the mouth (though both were wearing masks, per Covid protocols). Murray said he was being “jestful”, while the “much younger” female co-worker said she interpreted his actions as “entirely sexual” and was “horrified”.

The woman, who has not been identified, filed an official complaint, as did a second staffer who witnessed the incident. Searchlight Pictures paused production citing the complaint without naming Murray while he and the woman entered mediation.

The new report suggests they reached a settlement in which Murray reportedly paid her about $100,000 and she agreed to confidentiality as well as to waive any legal claims against the producers of Being Mortal, including Searchlight and its owner, Disney.

The 72-year-old actor admitted later in April that it was his behavior that halted production. In an interview with CNBC, Murray described the incident as a “difference of opinion” but declined to provide specifics.

This is the same with Chris Note. When some hot or rich famous men think that every woman that smiled at them and was nice - just sends her signals that that she wants to sleep with them. And in most cases its just women being nice and polite.

Can you imagine if some old ugly looking pretty woman who worked at the set or anywhere else and who Murrey had no interest in - would suddenly jump at him and tried to kiss him and undress him? And his reaction would be: "Get off me. You cray?" And she would say: "But... but... you smiled and me and was nice. I thought you wanted it too sweety?" )))

Women should troll those Hollywood actors and jump at them like that to show them the point of how ridiculous they look.

From what I've read of the incident, I don't think he was trying to copulate with that woman...right there on-set in front of others. I think he was trying to be funny, in kind of an "adult humor" sort of way. Bill Murray can have a very strange sense of humor. And I think these days.....young women are conditioned and programmed (through all the MeToo exaggeration) to interpret just about ANYTHING suggestive, flirty or just blue humor.....as an "assault".

I'm not saying don't believe the accuser. But my gut, in this case, says BM simply misread the room....and his attempt at adult humor was not appreciated.

This old fart straddled her and kissed her on the mouth in mask. There can be nothing funny about that. Noting. Its an assault. The reason why some people dont think it was an assault is because for many years it was tolerated in industry. With actors with power thinking its funny to say dirty stuff to women and trying to kiss them when THEY liked a woman and not caring if she likes him back.

Imagine if some 65 years old male worker would suddenly jumped at Murray and started kissing him when Murray had no interest in him in that way. That dude would be fired and Murray would feel assaulted wondering why would that dude do that.

Ironically, last year (when mask-wearing was probably at its peak), I had a female co-worker come up to me at the coffee maker and give me a "mask to mask" kiss, saying: "coffee smootch!"

It was odd, but she is a VERY silly person....and I certainly did not feel assaulted.

It's funny how people keep bringing age into the equation, as if to suggest......if he (Murray) had been young and handsome, it then would not have been a bad thing?

I just think this whole thing (with Murray) has been an overreaction, and could/should have been better mediated.
If they had all sat down together....if Murray had sincerely apologized....they should have been able to find a way (as grown adults in good faith) to move forward and finish the project.

Instead, she gets $100,000 (plus probably more compensation behind the scenes), and hundreds lose their jobs as the whole production comes to an end....millions of dollars lost.

I asked my wife how she would have reacted (if she were in her early 20's) if Bill Murray had attempted a silly, adult-humorish move like straddling her and giving her a mask-to-mask peck (on set, in front of others, probably in the context of on-set humor/pranking). She said the LAST thing she'd be is a victomized shrinking violet. Quite the opposite, she said she'd have pushed him away and said "Not Funny". Or, if she DID find it funny/harmless, she might have had a funny moment and laughed with him about it. (She has rather risque' humor, so it takes a lot to offend her or make her blush. And, she can give as good as she gets, LOL). This is one of the things that made me attracted to her, BTW.

You dont understand that people in industry treat celebrities different. For ordinary person if any celebrity pays any attention to them then they are starstruck and happy as hell and would do anything to please celebrity. So your wife would be happy if Bill Murrey kissed her.

People who work on movies are not starctruck by celebrities. They see them every day and see them as fellow colleagues. So that woman was not starstruck when he attacked her.

Just ask your wife what would she think if an ugly looking 73 years old creep from her office would jump at her and start kissing. She would not like it.

Why do you have to pretend that I don't know what you are saying? I know exactly what you are saying. You have a problem with women, you may not want to acknowledge that and it's understandable because it's hard for us to see things about ourselves that we don't want to admit. Its easier to blame someone else than face it.

I am not a woman that hates men like you want me to be. I was raised by a single father. I love him, I love my brothers. I get along very well with men. I work with mostly men where I have male bosses and I have men that work underneath me and none of these wonderful men think the way you do about women. You've turned women into villains or whores because you don't know how to interact with them. You have a problem.

You CAN communicate with me, you just don't want to acknowledge what I am saying. Online it's easy to find fellow men that will trash women with you so it makes you uncomfortable when one confronts you.
