White people committed genocide and rape against Native-American people and then stole their land. Nothing much has changed.
White people created thousands of laws and policies as well as white supremacy to justify enslaving, lynching, raping, discriminating, torturing, and marginalizing black people which continues today with the banning of history books and celebration of slavery with Confederacy state holidays.
Blacks and natives benefit massively from the technological strides made by Europeans. Those cannibalistic, incestuous natives were doing SO much with the country before whites arrived, eh? 🙄
You can't prove that our white way of life is superior to their's, other than under your stupid Christian religion, which you can never ever prove is true. If you ever even could, then a man can become a woman! 🤣🤣🤣.
The point is advanced peoples with big TVs shouldnt be visiting , much less stealing, less advanced countries .
Why cant they stay in their own country ?
because the populations expanding ?
well they should get that shit under control if theyre so advanced , cos theres only so much land to steal and plunder.
I'm not saying that nobody should have a big TV or a pickup truck,
I'm saying thats not a reason to invade another country and steal it
The comment that started my interaction with this thread was
"well they wernt doing much with the country"
as a justification for colonization and stealing the land.
Some "native Americans" were still living in the stone age as recently as the early 20th century. There are still blacks in Africa living in the stone age. I suppose all the ones enjoying modern living in the U.S. today would prefer to be wearing animal skins and sleeping on the ground in a hut. That actually sounds like it could be fun, for about two days.
Slavery of black people in North America ended 160 years ago. No living person, or even their great grandparents, owned a slave or was a slave.
The last battle with American Indians was well over a century ago. No one alive today, or even their parents, had anything to do with it.
Government, public schooling, higher education, media, and society in general bend over backward until they look like pretzels to accommodate, assist, tolerate, promote, and celebrate blacks and American Indians. It takes effort for a black or Indian person to fail.
You may think we are making strides as a nation, but then here comes some bakery that didn't like her political views, so they refused her service. In fact today at 5pm on MSNBC, Rev Al Sharpton will have the complete details about this story
The only persecution of my people today comes from white liberals who are using us a voting bloc by convincing too many of us that we are persecuted. Nice job Keelia. How does it feel to persecute people?
I can feel your pain, Keelai. It must be really tough to be half native American and half black. You've got to look over your shoulder all the time to make sure a white man is not chasing you.
I'm part NA and thought it would be interesting to research their history.
Many NA tribes were insanely brutal to each other and just as bad to Europeans when they showed up. Currently, NAs on reservations continue to be horrible to each other.
Also, NAs numbered at about four million in the entirety of North America. So, the US was pretty much empty when Europeans got here. However, many NA tribes they thought they owned vast amounts of land they did nothing with so they would murder Europeans on land the NAs did nothing with.
They picked the wrong people to treat like that and the end result was massive generalized destruction.
Europeans didn't show up and decide to kill a bunch of nice people.
About blacks, it was only rich people who owned slaves.
Could you own a slave now?
I couldn't because I can only take care of myself and that's the way it was back then.
Meanwhile, when slavery ended average people inherited a population of people who had no clue how to live on their own and were out of control. They didn't like that and reacted against blacks and we are still having issues today.
Again, people don't have zero reasons for acting negatively.
For instance, white people don't have positive or negative reactions to people from Bangladesh. That's because they have no experience with positive or negative cultural situations.
Not true about Native or Black history. Your "history" has an extreme Eurocentric bias. You didn't learn about the contributions of the Iroquois Confederacy to democracy, Constitution and infrastructure? Or their contribution to medicine and agriculture? Or their architecture and civilizations?
Europeans were malnourished and very short from malnutrition when they arrived because European monarchs and nobility kept wealth for themselves while starving and overworking the masses. Natives were more egalitarian and democratic sharing their resources.
The first Europeans traded with Natives on the East coast for years. European diseases wiped out entire Native populations on the East coast leaving them vulnerable. Europeans either lived in depopulated Native villages or asked Natives for help in order to survive.
Slavery never ended in the U.S.. I bet you don't know that.
White people had laws preventing Asians from immigrating to the U.S. and becoming citizens. Bangladesh until recently was a part of India. Indians were historically treated like garbage by white people. What do you know of India's colonialism by the British and Gandhi's protest movement?
The best accounts are not books but first hand documents written by people of events that happened to them.
Such documents aren't sanitized and are much better than history books. In addition, you can find such documents written by Native Americans explaining their thoughts on the topic.
Meanwhile, the situations you expressed are individual incidents. It's like saying Native Americans were good at making shoes and somehow that discounts the massive violence and bizarre beliefs they had about other people.
It doesn't.
Also, what one tribe did that was positive means nothing about the whole history and behavior or NAs collectively.
It's like saying Amish people in PA don't believe in technology or war as a way to deal with the entire West being obsessed with technology and war. Exceptions do not disprove rules.
If you are actually inclined to read, then research documents like I described. There's plenty online and free to read.
Look up "Native American Torture Rituals" for instance.
