🦋 WESTERN MONARCH DAY!

Every February 5th is observed as Western Monarch Day—a holiday that celebrates the end of the Western Monarch butterfly wintering in California. These butterflies shelter in Californian trees by November. They are the population of butterflies that are celebrated with an official holiday in California and have been since the early 2000s.

I thought this was going to be another political post.

Signed, million man.

I’ve reported this post.
Everyone knows that butterflies are either ridiculous Republtards or lefty Loonies.

I vote Libertarian, The Party Of The Snail.

Sure, we’re way be behind in every race but maybe we’ll eventually catch up somehow!

reply

Oh, did you leave the Whig party?

Signed, million man.

reply

I was all in with the Whig Party but then they served cucumber sandwiches and black tea at the rally and I was like ‘fuck this nonsense!’

How lovely. I don't see many Wanderer/Monarch butterflies in my area, just a lot of Common Brown and White Cabbage butterflies, but there's been an abundance of ladybirds around this summer and it's been very cute.

I love Monarchs. I planted a swan plant in my backyard to attract them but I’m rubbish at keeping plants alive and it was attacked by another bug and died lol

Still, I love seeing them when they’re in season. Wish I could post photos here, I took a picture of one a while back and it’s one of the best photos I’ve taken. Snapped it just at the right time and it’s pretty spectacular.
