It Has Arrived: SUPER BOWL LIX
I watch it for the movie trailers and commercials and normally throw back a pizza and smoke a bowl, but that's about it. Not really heavily invested in it, though I think Kansas City will win

shareI'm from Kansas City and have watched the Chiefs since the early 90s. I've lived through plenty of bad football games to really appreciate everything in the Mahomes Reid Era. I won't make a prediction but it would be fun to see history made with a three peat. For everyone talking about the refs rigging games do really believe that the NFL rigs games for a team in one of the smaller Midwest market while team like Dallas and both New York teams have sucked for years? I don't think so and it's ridiculous the NFL has actually made public statements about this.
shareI'm one of the people who thinks that games are... maybe not "rigged," per se, but "controlled" (think "Vegas, point spreads," etc.). And I feel like that the NFL doesn't even try to hide it anymore. I think The "Patriots' dynasty" was largely manufactured and it goes back even farther than that (I remember watching the Pittsburgh-Seattle Super Bowl some years back and thinking something wasn't right about that game and the way it was officiated).
To address some of your points:
1) While the Kansas City market may not be overly large, it has a pretty good-sized "regional market." Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Arkansas, etc. It's a good-sized market when the region is factored in.
2) Along those same lines regarding the owners...I kind of think Jerry Jones is despised by the NFL big-shots. I'm not sure about The Giants...but they've had a pretty good run until recently (4 Super Bowl wins). The Jets are a lot like the Bengals and Browns (I'm a Bengals' fan)...they just can't seem to put it all together for whatever reasons. I do think certain franchises have definitely been "favored" through the years. The Steelers (owned by The Rooney's, who have always been "NFL Darlings") are a prime example. Back when Don Shula was involved with The Dolphins, they were widely rumored to receive preferential treatment. And The Hunts, who I think still own The Chiefs, have been highly regarded also.
3) As I said before, I don't really watch the NFL anymore, but I still get "reels/videos" in my Facebook feed of certain NFL plays and it definitely seems to me that The Chiefs somehow magically get the benefit of every controversial call. You'd think that one would go against them at some point, but it hasn't happened (yet), as far as I know.
Obviously, I can't prove this. But I think the NBA, MLB, and both college football and basketball are similar to the NFL as well. Games are "controlled" through the officials, referees, umpires, etc.
Just my $.02.
Absolutely couldn't care less about this Superbowl (the state of the NFL is literally WWE now). I'm actually most looking forward to some Matt McConaughey commercials. And I got a pretty f'n bomb ass mango habanero chili going in the crock pot that nobody is gonna like but me. Maybe there'll be a cage match between Trump and Swift. That'd be fun. They can set that Eagle loose on em too, get some blood flowing. Oh. And another rousing round of spot the Satanic symbology in the halftime show.
shareI’d love to watch but there’s some grass growing I just can’t miss.
shareTo celebrate a game I basically don't care about except for the commercials and movie trailers, I ordered take out from the corner Italian Restaurant. A Meatball Sandwich, a Salad and White Pasta. It's Excellent
shareI dont watch it....but i usually watch the commercials on youtube as i love the commercials
shareIt's already the most beautiful, powerful, opening to a Super Bowl I think I've ever seen!
shareI predict Philadelphia Eagle 30 Kansas City Chiefs 24
