Being newer here, I still feel like I have a lot to learn about this board and its history. For anyone who feels comfortable sharing, I'm just curious:
1. How many years have you been posting here?
2. Why didn't you tell me about this place sooner? (Just kidding)
3. Has it changed much over the years?
SIX YEARS....FIRST YEAR I WAS A DIFFERENT ACCOUNT...I WAS BANNED....A SHORT BREAK AND A NEW ACCOUNT AND HERE WE ARE 5 YEARS LATER.
THE SITE HAS GOTTEN SLOWER AND MEANER IN MY TIME HERE....IT'S STILL QUITE AWESOME...BUT IT WAS FASTER AND FRIENDLIER BACK WHEN.
I'm glad you stuck it out and are still here, K. You make it more fun.

3. Not really. It's always been pretty laid-back from my experience. Some great folks here.
I'm happily impressed with the number of people who have been here the whole time or almost the whole time. I think that really says a lot about a forum and I'm glad your experience here has always been good. ππΌ
shareSince the begining, when IMDb shut down. I lurked for about 2 weeks then signed up for an account. I didn't start posting in GD until about 2-3 years ago though.
A lot of the regular posters from the individual movie boards -- that migrated over from IMDB -- are not around anymore, but other than that, the general vibe is the same.
I'm glad you decided to hang out on General Discussion, too. I think you add a great level-headed voice of reason.

3. Has it changed much over the years? The site's gotten a bit slower & the ads have become even more "aggressive". Hate logging to the site without using Brave browser.
