Name some of your fave films that flew under the radar (didn't get much recognition)....

SOmething you liked that maybe....

Didn't do major box office.

Was ignored by the academy.

Isn't talked about all that much.

Wasn't very popular.

Something under the radar you really enjoyed. I've got a few......

2020s:

"Janet Planet"

"Alone"

2010s:

"Excision"

"Diane"

"Rust Creek"

"Burn"

2000s:

"The Station Agent"

"Year of the Dog"

"Nick Nolte : No Exit" - This one should have been labeled as a comedy, thought it was hysterical.

1990s....

"Les Miserables" - 1998 version

"Unlawful Entry"

"Wolf"

"Freeway" - It's actually very funny if you don't take it seriously.

"Breakdown"

"The Vanishing"

1980s

"They Live"

"Somewhere in Time"

That's about it, look forward to other takes.....

The first one that comes to mind easily was called "Somewhere, Tomorrow" starring Sarah Jessica Parker. It was one of the first movies that my family taped on our VCR in the mid-80s and I really liked it a lot. I watched it over and over. I've never heard anyone else mention it and I'm assuming it flew under the radar for most people.

If I think of anything else I will add it.

reply

Yeah, good one.

In fact you're right, never heard of it. Flew under my radar for sure.

Thanks for the response.

reply

Not sure if it flew under the radar but I liked Kraven The Hunter and felt it didn't deserve the apparent hate it got.

reply

HHmmmm

I've heard of it, but never seen it.

Big time thumbs up????

reply

It's one of the Sony Marvel Spider-Man Universe movies (Venon, Mobius, Madam Web) but I thought it was well done.

It can stand all by itself.

Three out of four bowls of borscht (Kraven is Russian).

reply

SOunds good, thank you.

The Way of the Gun (2000)
Upgrade (2018)
Ravenous (1999)
The Thirteenth Floor (1999)
Shot Caller (2017)

reply

Wow, can't say I've seen any of those.

Definitely under the radar.

Thanks for the reply.

reply

I really enjoyed The Way Of The Gun!

We might be the only ones🤓

reply

The Natural.

reply

Yeah, that was a good one.

Thanks for the reply.

reply

I really like burn. And you gotta love freeway and breakdown, classics.

reply

Hey all right. Thank you.

I thought "Freeway" was hysterical - didn't think anyone else even knew about it.

Glad to see I have a partner.

Thanks for the reply.

reply

I recognise 3 of your op list : )

Off the top of my head I'd add
Cold dog Soup
The Man from Earth
Two Hands

That last one being a totally awesome crime/drama film that is the definition of underrated and easily my fave in its genre.

reply

Ok sounds good, thanks.

The Amazing Mr Blunden (1972)
Oscar (1991)
Manborg (2011)

reply

"Oscar"?

The one with SLy???

I believe he was in it.

reply

Yes, I think that I must have been the only person who found it funny 🤣

reply

Hahah, yeah, that is under the radar.

No offense, as I recall, it may have been Sly's most unpopular effort.

Ok - thanks for the reply.

reply

It was, which I still can’t understand. Maybe the world just wasn’t ready for comic Stallone, lol.

reply

Sly's most unpopular effort.
Oh I dont know , he's making a return some real stinkers recently , "escape plan" sequels and this latest thing with Eastwood jnr

reply

The Vanishing? Please watch the original, it puts the remake to shame.

reply

Yeah, I believe it was European, released in the 80s.

Never saw it.

If I have it I'll take a look.

Thanks for the reply.

reply

It's a Dutch movie and very much superior to the remake. Just saw it again last year.

reply

Ok, sounds good

Thank you.
