McDonald's pig-out

I ordered 2 Big Macs, Large Fries, Large Coke (a Large #1 plus an extra Big Mac)

$18.28 ($16.88 before tax)

Unreal

Have a very Merry Christmas!

reply

Glutonous.

I am weak when it comes to junk food, so I won't judge.

reply

Would you believe that in all my years of eating McDonald's...and I've eaten there A LOT...I have never once had a Big Mac?!

reply

I was reminded how much I love the special sauce, I've never found a store-bought imitator that nails it.

reply

fourlemons- Never ate a Big Mac? My dad used to call it “soup on a bun”.

Haven’t eaten there in years. The only reason I used to go there was because of all those annoying movie tie-ins aimed at little kids. My son had to have every little toy that was advertised. He didn’t even like the food that much.

reply

My husband recently got a Big Mac that had so much sauce on it that it spilled all over the place, so I can see why your dad called it soup on a bun. 😁

I probably will try one one day. It's not that I don't think they'll taste good, there are just other things at McDonald's that I like to get instead. I like Chicken McNuggets and Filets o' Fish.

reply

I like the Filet ‘O Fish too but apparently we are in a small fan club😄

reply

More for us then! 😁

reply

The tartar sauce on Filet-O-Fish is the best! My favorite. The closest thing I have found in the supermarket is Kraft.

reply

You forgot dessert. Your meal isn't complete without an apple pie.

reply

I debated getting a vanilla or chocolate shake. But passed. Had a couple Christmas edition hostess cupcakes back home.

reply

The Apple pie is very good as is the cherry pie👍

reply

Wow, 2 Big Macs and Fries huh?? I'd be shitting like a Steer after eating something like that

reply

I ended up eating about half there, and taking about half home. I just polished it off now. It does boggle my mind that it was the better part of $20.

reply

You eat like I do! 😃 Like Big Dan Teague said in "O' Brother, Where Art Thou!"... "I'm a man of large appetites!" 😃

If you have a cell phone, I would recommend downloading the McDonalds app and using it. Even if you don't eat at McDonald's all that much (my boys and I eat there often), the app really comes in handy when you use it. You can usually get a 20 percent discount on your order (if it's over $10) and you can accumulate points where you can redeem for free food. But, yes, prices have really skyrocketed here in recent years 😥.

Would you eat this?

reply

Ja

This is the one I'm not sure about
https://www.mcdonalds.com/nl/nl-nl/product/mckroket.html

reply

You're okay with the caramel sauce? I'm seriously contemplating to give it a try.

A kroket on a bun is a very normal snack, but I wouldn't go with the McDonald's version. Not a lot of flavour and not much filling.

reply

I've never had chicken and waffles, which is a popular regional dish in the US. I just assume the caramel is used instead of maple syrup (in other words it's supposed to have a sweet element).

reply

I just had the burger. It was small, but only €2,50. It tasted exactly like what you'd expect, a McChicken with stroopwafel. The waffle bits were crunchy and the caramel sauce had a hint of cinnamon. Not incredible, but not bad either.

reply

Stroopwafel, from what I can see, is closer to a cookie than a waffle...? So in other words not what I would normally think of as chicken & waffles.

Sounds pretty good for the price.

reply

No, it's not soft like a Belgian waffle, but thin and crunchy. I guess this is a Dutch version of the well-known Southern dish (which I actually once made myself).

To order it I had to download their app, which I will remove immediately.

reply

One meal is almost 15 bucks now. Ridiculous. I avoid McDonald's as much as I can.

Signed, million man.

reply

Yeah, ridiculous how the fast food prices have shot up recently. You could eat in at a decent restaurant for less than that.

reply

I just bought chipotle for 3 people for 40 bucks.

Signed, million man.

reply

Burger King is better than McDonalds. They have a wider variety to choose from plus I just read that Shake Shack is officially voted the most expensive fast food which is saying alot when you consider how much FIVE GUYS cost??

reply

Back when I ate fast food, I'd get 3 sandwich items. Like at McDonalds a Big Mac, a Quarter Pounder with Cheese, and a Filet o' Fish. Or at Taco Bell a taco, a bean burrito, and a beef burrito. I'm lucky in that I never gain weight. I stopped doing that for health reasons though.
