McDonald's pig-out
I ordered 2 Big Macs, Large Fries, Large Coke (a Large #1 plus an extra Big Mac)
$18.28 ($16.88 before tax)
Unreal
Have a very Merry Christmas!

With the McDonald's APP, you can get a double cheeseburger for $0,50, the sale ending Monday Dec 16, 2024. The APP had free fries on Friday for a long time, or some other deal. For November, you could get 10 chicken nuggets once per week for $1.00.
Wendy's $5 Box Deal has a chicken sandwich or a double-stack cheeseburger (for $1 more), plus small fries, 4 chicken nuggets and a small soda. Wendy's is really overpriced for anything else. They recently offered any size soda or tea for $1 (which McDonald's used to have, before raising the price 40%.)
The Wendy's Big Box Deal really cut into the sales for McDonald's and Burger King. So they both recently COPIED IT, but they don't charge an extra $1 for a double cheeseburger. But if you go into a McDonald's you will NOT see the $5 meal deal on the menu! But it is on the ordering kiosks (which try to get you to add things) and the counter people all know about it and process it. McDs wants the $5 deal to get you into the restaurant, but they hope that you won't use it.
You do NOT need the APP to get the $5 meal deal at McD's or Wendy's..
NOTE TO YOUNG SPOILED RICH PEOPLE: Do NOT murder the McD's CEO or the owners of any of the franchise owners over this!
All of the APP deals are offered on the assumption that you will purchase other things, even though that is not required. It works. I bring kids for the deals and they always want a milk shake or something else. Yes, the prices have gone through the roof.
I don't have a smart phone, so I don't have the APP. I used the McDonald's WiFi and signed up for the emails, which ALL require the APP for the deals. I know kids who have Smart phones, so I bring them there. They are daughters of African immigrants and are sick of eating rice or fufoo every day.
I also don't own a smartphone.
shareI don't even remember the last time I was at McDonalds, must have been over 20 years ago.
We all know how low the quality of their food is and here in Italy a good meal in many other places costs only half as much.
The closest thing to fast food I frequently go to is a steak house chain called Roadhouse Grill, where they have every day a discount offer for one specific thing, i.e. on thursdays they used to offer a freshly made 500g burger with fries for half their regular price or 6.50β¬. While they had that offer I went there almost every thursday, but recently they increased the price of that offer to over 10β¬ which is why I now rather go to a different place.
I haven't been recently, but I'm sure my go-to meal[Large #1 w/Coke + Filet-o-Fish] that I've been getting for forty years is much the same...
Merry Christmas to you!πππ
The tartar sauce on Filet-O-Fish is the best! My favorite. The closest thing I have found in the supermarket is Kraft.
shareWow, what a ripoff.
I haven't eaten at McDonald's since COVID.
Prior to that, well, the one I go to anyway, had a cool coupon. If you purchased a Big Mac Meal, you'd get 2 two for one Egg McMuffin coupons. WHich was great. The BIg Mac meal was around 8 bucks.
The the 2 for 1 Egg McMuffins were 4 bucks.
ANyway, seeing what it is costing now is even more inspiration to not go there.
